We also lost to WF who got beat by 10 at home by Charlotte. We have no major wins. But I then to agree that they haven't played together enough yet.

It may not seem like it, but we have a Quad-1 win vs Pitt & a Q2 win vs Richmond. We're 1-2 vs Q1 (8 games left) & 1-1 vs Q2 (5 games left).

That WF game was atrocious in the second half. The refs were bad. I don't usually make that claim, but we had a player get raked across the face going for a rebound and there was no whistle. TG was very animated about the calls in the second half. On our court we would have handled them.

Well the NCAA has now given the go ahead on all transfers without limitations. We will see Murray in the lineup with a coach who is a good guy, seesh.
The SEC doesn’t enforce any rules and we follow all the rules, makes it hard to be competitive at a high level. When I see Greg Sankey, another dude getting paid to look the other way, just like the NCAA heads, it makes me sick. NIL office in Alabamas stadium, part of Alabamas army to bend all the rules but Sankey doesn’t speak out on this development. Nothing surprises me in the SEC.
Think of recruits on a Alabama visit, they do everything we do but they call ahead to the NIL office, tell them what NIL estimate they have to beat, send the potential recruit over the the stadium to get a better offer. EAsy Peazy!

Isn’t it just a court issuing a temporary restraining order on the NCAA? Are college basketball transfers now going to play for two weeks until the issue is heard in the courts or will the NCAA just decide to let every transfer play immediately?

You know the answer, it’s the NCAA. I am going to watch if they let Murray/Cisse transfer in to Ole Miss and play from day one. That will tell you all you want to know. Brandon Murray 6’5” Cisse 7’1” center. Both are transferring in and have already used their free 1 time transfer, this will go along with Jermarion Sharp 7’5” Center who has already transferred in and is playing. If we see all three early in January, well it’s a free for all. No rules apply anymore. Beard has assembled one heck of a team in short order. The SEC will see shortly.

PS. Don’t forget they gave more money to John Bol to secure his signing for 24. Unbelievable, where is all this money coming from?

Cisse has been cleared and is playing. Murray hasn’t been cleared yet. The whole thing makes no sense.

Hope we can stomp on ECU in Lakeland, hope the players know that every game counts towards getting to the NCAA. Chris Beard is taking all D1 schools back to the money school in recruiting. Three seven footers recruited in six months or less. A lot schools wanted all three. Seems this is odd and very unusual. Where is all the money coming from? Ole Miss a basketball blueblood. NOT

The difference between this team and last year's team is that we have a bigger front line, we have better-skilled guards, and Kugel and Richard do not have to assume overbearing roles in the offense. Kugel's offense was nonexistent last night and we still won. That would have been impossible at the end of last season.

SEC teams are not going to have the layup lines they used to have, and they are going to have to defend the post and the perimeter as we now have at least three people who can hit the three on the starting five in Kugel, Clayton, and Richard. We run the floor better. We can play 10 players if necessary, and our bigs are not clumsy plodders but athletic. Two of them also can hit outside shots.

We are MUCH improved, and it is a credit to Golden's taking the controls and shaping this program back into a legitimate contender.

On a semi-home court last night, we came within a hair of losing to a team that is worse than every single team in the SEC. I am reserving judgment on how much the Gators can improve as the season goes on, but, 10 games into the season, we are not a very good team.

Lol..we also blew the doors off of FSU and beat Pitt pretty good and should have beat Baylor (top ten 10). So kind of a mixed bag but Im chopping the ECU win as just one of those games that all teams go through. As long as it wasnt a bad loss Im fine with it. Lets see what they do against Michigan.

I am so sorry that we don't have a really small point guard.

Lousy teams don't win that game.

First, there's no such thing as a "semi-home court." Second, we won by five points, two possessions, which is more than a hair of losing. Third, no one knows if ECU is worse than every single team in the SEC, especially since they fought two of the upper division SEC teams into close games. They certainly have a higher rpi than Vandy.

We are not a really good team right now. I think that I explained what our problems are in a different thread. We are really slow on close outs for three point shooters. We are slow on defensive switches. We are terrible at the FT line.

I hope we can fix these things.

We are a better team- a much better team than we were last year. It is not even close. And that team might have made it to the dance had Castleton not gotten hurt.

The verdict is out of the n all teams right now. We will see how conference play goes. I like the fact that we won’t have the glaring mismatches we have had for years with 6’4” players having to guard 6’8” power forwards. I think it will translate to fresher bodies for our swing and point guards.
