Well he had a starting spot but ended up losing it a guy in the class after him. If he wants to start again he will need to find a place he can on the field.
Honestly, I thought Mitchell was terrible. Every game....just awful. Couldn't understand how he was constantly given opportunities to see the field. I feel like the coaching staff told him he has no future here as a starter, and he was encouraged to transfer out.
I remember seeing a preseason scrimmage of him coming downhill at a RB, maybe Carroll, and just getting laid out on his back. It was a sign of things to come. Hes always looked really small to play safety to me.
I'll be interested to see where Mitchell ends up. Like many others- i wish he had stayed and developed...
We just need 8 guys of the quality coming in who can hold the edge and blow up screen plays like Sapp. There are some assignments he will never be able to do as well as others. He has been a good Gator.
He is, but Hill I think was even smaller but more effective tackling this past year. That was something lacking for Hill 2 years ago.
That's fair but Hill isn't asked to help in the run game like Mitchell is playing safety. Hill, before he started playing with the club hand, was in position and making plays. Maybe Mitchell could grow into that, if given the amount of time Hill has gotten to do so.
I think he knew the future with Thornton already passing him that he better get in the portal asap before better destinations are full up forcing him to go down too many levels.
I thought he flashed at times last year and expected him to take the next step as a soph....but it just didn't happen. Not sure why, but he regressed rather than developed.
same. Heck, thought he was gonna overtake Hill in the STAR role or man one of the safety spot but he just….regressed. Looked liked he was overwhelmed out there
The world is shocked. I'll always remember where I was when Jonathan Odom announced his transfer destination. Never forget.
