Think you’re missing some context there. Mullen had a handful of guys who never made it to the first game and another handful that never set foot on campus at all.
No longer having guys who love being Gators and develop well and form bonds with their teammates and coaches over time and become leaders and winners sucks majorly. Not interested in the new cfb buying and trading players every day of the year. Most people underestimate how important collegiate teams have been to the soul of the institution. The new cfb is going to rot colleges from the inside out.
Jaden Rashada sure didn't make it to even the first class. Also we are comparing the known (Mullen) to the unknown (Napier). I just think everyone jumping on the "Billy's a great recruiter and so much better than Mullen" just needs to wait a tic and see how things shake out first. IMO, the jury is still out.....maybe on 12/20 we'll get our first bit of quantifiable proof that he is better.
I'm not sure I agree. The TV money has corrupted Academia to its core and they are so addicted to it that they do unethical things to keep it flowing....or does anybody still believe that Alabama built their program completely on the up and up? Ethics are a slippery slope...cut corners here and then its not so hard doing the same over there.
I'm sure there are some that have only dipped their toe into the corruption pool as opposed to the Big 5 or 6 who stripped nekkid and immediately jumped into the deep end. However, just being a little corrupt is sorta like being a little pregnant, either you are or you aren't.
That's what was said about last year's exodus as well, regardless of whether it was true or not in certain cases. You saw the results this year. Mitchell may not be a Starter, but he played a lot of snaps in the last two years and would have been nice to keep as experienced depth.
I been trying to think about a response for your reply, but the only thing in my mind is the picture of the Missouri receiver leaving Mitchell on the ground.
Burden has left a lot of DB's on the ground...but I get your point that he needs to continue to develop physically and mentally. He wasn't the worst DB on our team by any means.
Players transfer out after coaching changes. FSU moved out many kids when retooling their roster. Takes time. Year 1 playing with a Mullen roster. Year 2 weeding out. Year 3 infusing roster with more of your system players. Year 4 you see turn around on the field Remember when Rex Grossman did not buy into Zool system after Spurrier left and was changing plays in huddle
I’m impressed that he was credited with 37 tackles. Cousin must have been keeping stats problem is that we aren’t losing the player he was last year, but the player he could develop into the next 2
Pretty sure we've reached the point of gold fever. Kids not wanting to miss out on cash. Those who don't have professional agents will soon and will have deals in hand long before their coach's know it. Until then some are going to be left out in the cold.
