Let me get my cane and slumber to the bathroom. Oh,by the way maybe you would like to play “gramps” in golf . Your choice of tees . I’m sure you being young and athletic you wouldn’t have a problem beating me … right ?
Maybe a Nassau with junk ? Something modest $25.00 a side and total.
We can then report to the boys on the thread here the day you played “gramps “ in golf

    Your memory is failing you.

I was at UF from 72-77, often frustrating, but never a losing season and dominated FSU.
I dont recall the Graves era, so I looked it up, one losing season in 10 years.
I do recall the 80s and a 3 year stretch where we went 27-4, including the best team in the country in 1984. Even under sanctions in the Hall era we were better than we are now.

This idea that the Gators were always losers prior to the 90s is just nonsense. We are currently in uncharted territory with 3 straight losing seasons.

I know more about Gator football than you and you know that. Florida was very average except in a few spots. Never a top tier . We are who we are ! I was at UF the same years as you . But thanx for educating me

Yes he's back as their OC. I had to step away after Smack missed that FG, everything in my gut told me we'd lose that game the 2nd they announced it was at noon.

I knew that we would lose that game the second they announced that they were wearing "special" black uniforms.

More like the biggest underachievers, probably in the entire NCAA when you consider the talent base we sat on.

60+ years to win our first SEC title? Never should have taken us that long.

Yeah, I was talking about that with a UGA friend last night and how that stretch probably benefited Alabama and Bryant immensely.

Auburn also got a break...for years they played UF, took a bye week, and then played Uga. Since that schedule got broken up Auburn's record vs. UF and UGa has taken a distinct turn to the South.

With regard to early 80’s comments above, I was there in 1984 when we won our first SEC and National Title. We celebrated in Gville despite what SEC (TN) and country thought. NY Times said we were national champs. I think we beat FSU 5 years in a row. Then came probation years under Galen Hall, who had been the OC at Oklahoma and was a brilliant offensive coach. Does not get his due. Did not feel bad on probation as we had Galen and Emmitt. Then of course came Spurrier. I think there was a Gary Darnell interim HC somewhere in there.

with regard to the Black uni comments above, I think it is foolish to give up a home field advantage of a hot Noon game by having your players dressed in black. Also think certain colors stand out more on field when looking down field. I think the orange is better color to find receivers
