As brutal as it seems, the toughest games will be @Texas and neutral @Georgia. Road games @Miss Stake and @FSU are winnable. 7 home games leave us with some optimism. We should have a manageable early schedule. Florida Gators 2024 schedule so far Known Dates Saturday, Aug. 31 — Miami Hurricanes — Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville Saturday, Sep. 7 — Samford Bulldogs — Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville Saturday, Sep. 14 — Texas A&M Aggies — Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville Saturday, Oct. 5 — UCF Knights — Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville Saturday, Oct. 12 — Tennessee Volunteers — Neyland Stadium, Knoxville, TN Saturday, Nov. 2 — Georgia Bulldogs — TIAA Bank Stadium, Jacksonville Saturday, Nov. 23 — Ole Miss Rebels — Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville Saturday, Nov. 30 — Florida State Seminoles — Doak Campbell Stadium, Tallahassee Unknown dates Kentucky Wildcats — Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville LSU Tigers — Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville Mississippi State Bulldogs — Davis Wade Stadium, Starkville, MS Texas Longhorns — DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX Full Schedule Week 1: Aug. 31 vs. Miami Week 2: Sept. 7 vs. Samford Week 3: Sept. 14 vs. Texas A&M Week 4: Sept. 21 — TBA Week 5: Sept. 28 — TBA Week 6: Oct. 5 vs. UCF Week 7: Oct. 12 — at Tennessee Week 8: Oct. 19 — TBA Week 9: Oct. 26 — TBA (typically a bye week for both Florida and Georgia) Week 10: Nov. 2 vs. Georgia (Jacksonville) Week 11: Nov. 9 — TBA Week 12: Nov. 16 — TBA Week 13: Nov. 23 — TBA Week 14: Nov. 30 — at Florida State
I appreciate the optimism, and I hope you are right. But we were wrecked by Kentucky and lost to a bad Arkansas team, amongst many others. I don't assume any part of the schedule is "manageable" at this point.
How in the world at this point does the SEC not know the DATES of four of our SEC games? I get not knowing the times, but the dates? Makes you wonder if we really are going to have 7 home games.
Even being a bad road team under Napier I will take our chances in Tallahassee against a presumably good FSU team but we historically play horrible in the state of Mississippi whether we're any good or not and whether the Mississippi teams are any good. Starkville is going to be tough.
Assuming we have a bye week before Georgia (as they do), that leaves 3 opponents with either/or dates: @ Texas (9/28 or 11/9) Kentucky (10/19 or 11/9) LSU (10/19 or 11/16) Our first bye would likely be 9/21 or 9/28 otherwise it would likely be too close to the 2nd bye. Glad two of the schedules got leaked; glad Sankey wasn't happy about it. Hopefully all the schedules get leaked before the show tomorrow night. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Agree...but what about Mississippi State? I'm thinking Kentucky early and LSU a bit later. Prefer to have Miss Stake either before or after Texas.
Anything less than 6-1 at home and Billy is on a thermonuclear hot seat. Miami, UCF, Kentucky are as close to must-wins as it gets. LSU also there with 5 consecutive losses to them. Billy really has no room for error next year.
[EDIT: no clue about MSU, hardest date to pin down without doing the full sudoku] I've got 9/28 as @ Texas (just guessing, of course), but Texas' options that weekend are Oklahoma, MSU, or FLORIDA. They tried to throw us to the wolves with A&M back in 2012 when they thought we weren't strong. They may do the same thing for Texas' SEC opener. But 9/21 and 9/28 are either BYE/TX, BYE/MSU, MSU/TX or MSU/BYE. I'm guessing bye for us that weekend (again, same as Georgia). If the SEC really wants to screw us, they could give us Georgia, Texas, LSU, Ole Miss, and SWAC to finish our season. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
