There is something wrong with that graphic. Its definitely not Total Defense, and we certainly aren't just ahead of UGA (#13) in defense. The graphic label is "tackles" which I cannot figure why that would be a useful statistic at all.

You're giving them credit for us intentionally taking a safety. Maybe pay attention and don't just look at raw numbers
So all touchdowns or field goals when you have the lead at game end should not be counted? Last 3 minutes? 2 minutes? A pick 6 at game end should not be counted if already leading? Meaningless and never added to points scored in a quarter? Box score is the box score. Those in sporting casinos don’t use this same logic. Interesting way to think. To me when you say box score it means box score and not a made up one in a person’s head.
Not sure what you’re linking here as it’s sorted by number of tackles. We were 11th out of 14 in both Total and Scoring Defense. And there are 14 SEC teams this year and 16 teams next year. 2023 College Football Defense Total Team Stat Leaders - ESPN
Did you watch the game? My mind doesn’t work very well but I think I remember them taking an intentional safety to run time off the clock and kick the ball away?
