How about they focus on hiring a good football coach instead of always shopping in the bargain bin and then paying for these bargain bin coaches like they are nick Saban.

You forgot to mention the constant puddles in the middle of the floors in the men's room, and I'm not talking about around the urinals or stalls. I mean in the middle of the men's room. Been that way for decades, too.

I started going in 1961, sitting in section 4. I think the same puddle has been in the men's room through all of those years.

We have had our “sunshine” seats since 95, you would think they would view us as guaranteed money too!

I don’t think people would be as upset if Stricklin hadn’t popped his mouth off about reducing seating. That’s what most people are pissed about.

Au Contraire my friend. UF seems to be able to tear down what they want to, when they want to:

I guess it’s not impossible. I wouldn’t bank on it though.

Its the most frequent observation of why the East stands can't be decked, which IMO doesn't need to be done anyway.

Its not really the historical building it once was anyway...they've chopped up the interior to create classrooms, etc. There were once still portions of the stands in the building and courts where I played intramurals in the mid 1980's. I think the remnants of those have been gone for some time, but I haven't been in that building in 20 years or so. I don't really think a brick shell really makes a historical building. I would think that the original gym (Women's Gym) would be more historical.

People complain about a lot that they have no control over, but let's be honest: An insignificant number of people are going to refuse to show up for games because they can't spend twice as much money for better quality concessions and have a little more elbow room when navigating the concourse. An insignificant number of people have ever said "I would go to the game, but there's no wifi there." I complain about the lack of replays at football games and at basketball games all the time (not necessarily on the boards), but they have zero bearing on whether or not I'm going to attend. Major renovations are done to increase revenues, not to appease fans. I hate what they did to the O'DOME, but I recognize how it was a valuable decision for the UAA. I suspect something similar may happen with the football stadium, but I hope they don't do as much to kill the atmosphere.

Our house in Gainesville is on the National Historic Register. The outside structure is what matters. You are allowed to make changes to the interior—rooms, wallpaper, cabinets, hvac, etc

I was just referring to my own opinion, rather than any actual guidelines.

Yeah they butchered the O'Dome, which is why I have little faith that they will do a good job with the Swamp, a much, much more historical venue.

I do wonder though if the revenue profile of the O'Dome changed that much based on the renovation. They took out a crap-ton of really good seats.....do they sell enough liquor to the fat cats to make that revenue up.

I think you are right with those as singular issues....it's the composite of all those things that might move the needle. It doesn't for me, but I know plenty of people that won't go except for a big game because of that stuff, even with a free tic from me

Heck the seat width and leg room was tight in the 70’s. I’m certainly much, um, taller than I was then.
