Never heard of him but found this story after a quick Google search.....I must be missing something......please fill me in on why he's a great hire....thanks! Florida Football: Who is Chargers assistant DB coach Will Harris? Quote: Currently, Harris is the assistant defensive backs coach for the Los Angeles Chargers. The secondary for LA hasn’t been great this season, with the Chargers ranking 28th in the NFL in opponent yards per passing attempt. Before the NFL, Harris spent one season as the defensive coordinator for Georgia Southern. The Eagles didn’t have a great defense in 2022 and gave up 33.7 points per game, 20th worst in the country.
Are you saying it is a bad hire? Do it now, so we can know what your position is. And what does Raymond have to do with this hire? Did you want to retain him? Eeyore.
Yeah, you hit it on the nose perfectly. I don’t know for sure if he’s leaving them but I know that he will be actively recruiting for Florida so basically yes and it’s actually a really good pick up because he has done some great things in the past at Washington with several defensive backs, six being taken in the top three rounds, I’m very excited and I think he will help us get Mincy and keep X
They always seem to know more that they’ll tell you later. Still waiting for the tell all on the Rashada situation that so many of them had all the goods on.
You forgot the part where he had 4 great years at Washington leading one of the best DB units in the country and also put a handful of players in the draft in his 4 years there.
If he had, he couldn't publish it today. He's not suggesting otherwise, just reminding folks to wait for the official announcement before knowing anything is set in stone. PS -- I posted the article since everyone could use some good news.
And, then there's this on the flip side: "In his final season with the Huskies, Harris’ guided Washington to the No.1 pass defense in the FBS, allowing just 143.3 passing yards per game and six passing touchdowns on the season, the fewest by any team in the country."
At Washington Harris coached 2022 1st round pick Trent McDuffie 2021 2nd Round pick Kyler Gordon 2021 3rd round pick Elijah Molden 2019 2nd round pick Taylor Rapp 2019 2nd round pick Byron Murphy Jr.
This is a very good hire and Billy did a very good job. If he can get a DL coach in in the next three or four days that is legit, we are in great shape. Well… Let me temper my positive energy I need at least two portal commits from this weekend.
I just posted something a minute ago that validates what you were saying… Coached five first or second round picks in a three-year period period. Have to think he had a lot to do with that
Meh. Nothing would surprise me. Mixed resume and an NFL coach yields unpredictable results, IMO. Could be fantastic and he could be disappointing. Worst-case scenario, he's not "the problem." I'm just not sure if he's "the solution."
Are you claiming that this thread needs to "have wings"? Like 1100 pages? Or at least 136? Well then...
