That was probably due to our lack of paying top dollar. Every supposedly good recruiter that comes to UF struggles. It's all about the Benjamins nowadays. Being a good liar doesn't cut it anymore.
DL recruits last year and this year prior to decommits were some of the best players we have recruited in a long time
OH we were young, naive fans and full of hope lol. I do want guys that want to be Gators. Our lines of scrimmage must be full of warriors who fight together for each other. Maybe those days are gone and will be replaced with "produce or be replaced".
It's cool. We can just grab a 2 star long snapper and a 3 star lb and that adds to 5 stars. ETA:: it's a joke. I don't lose my mind over the decisions of HS kids. You can relax, Mr. Mod.
Read that UF and CBN are still fighting hard and have been talking to the family and they are gonna meet our new DB coach In house this week coming. Hopefully Will Harris knocks it out of the park with Filsaime
Hard to blame him at the moment with all the uncertainty but hopefully things clear up in the next 10 days to keep him committed
A lot of the posts in this thread remind me of the hyenas in The Lion King Yeah, yeah, me too, me too.
if the key to Napier being successful with stacking classes, and he can’t stack classes for whatever reason and the Ofield product has been less than desirable, and kids are complaining about strength and conditioning and development. Then please remind me why we are being patient? Is it because we don’t want to get into the next hire coach and fire coach situation every two years? I really want Napier to work out… I know it doesn’t seem like that because I’m negative often… But that’s only because most of us are exhausted having gone through the get hopeful, get disappointed, argue about reasons cycle for the last 13 years… But I just cannot see a logical end to why we want to keep him around or think we have hope that it’s going to work out. In my mind, you need a coach that has an exciting scheme that can scheme your way to some early victories, our academic requirement, and all sports trophy deficits… Get the ball rolling the right way… And then kids will want to come here because we do have a ton of resources… But the idea that you strip it down and build it back up by stacking classes… Which is exactly what Muschamp wanted to do… Isn’t gonna work unless you get early wins and early buying which unfortunately he hasn’t
You're not wrong. Even though I'm sure some on here will tell you that you are. And we all "want" him to work out. Even the most negative guys. But the preponderance of evidence so far is that he won't. Of course things could change but odds are they won't. Unfortunately, even if we let BN go, we would probably not be able to replace him with someone a lot better now. Hence, the quandary.
