Implying he flew in to pick up players, or that he's meeting with Stricklin, are both brazen and funny. Downright dirty.
Good vision?! His vision is terrible. Maddening watching him run. He might be able to break tackles a little better than ETN but his feet are not nearly as quick so he doesn't avoid tackles as well.
I hope you get to meet him one day face to face. Then again, you're not worthy of being run over by him.
Not sure what you’ve been watching but Montrell’s vision is head and shoulders above ETN’s, who has the highest negative rush rate among SEC backs who meet the minimum carry threshold. ETN is Barry Sanders. Montrell is Emmitt (Neither of these kids is THAT level but it makes the point). One has more an an elite tool set (ETN: burst, quickness, wiggle) and the other an elite skill set (Montrell: VISION, patience, pass pro). Both have been great here despite questionable line play. But to say Montrell has terrible vision is just WAY way off
agreed. I like ETN, wish he would stay, but i’m not torn up if he does end up at another school. Webb and Daniels will be fine replacements. As down as I am right now, the team is not THAT far off overall. It just sucks to go through a rebuilding process
No thanks. Not a fan. Of course I'm not a fan of any athlete. So there's that. Re: his running ability, I just call em like I see em. Seen him run right into people way too often when there was a hole right there. If people on here can't see that then their vision must be like his.
You can forgot about long TD runs like the one against UT then. And unless our OL improves (which seems hard to imagine the way things are going), the rushing game is going to be worse too. ETN made a ton of guys miss with his feet. None of our other backs could've avoided a lot of those tackles. And I think our opponents focused on him because they knew what he was capable of. But time will tell and if I'm right no one hear will come back and say I was. Such is human nature. And if I'm wrong, I'll happily admit it.
ETN is the closest thing I've seen to ES at UF. Great feet and vision like ES. Montrell is just another guy. Not big and strong enough to run guys over consistently like Bo or Herschel. Not fast, can't make people miss and doesn't see the field well. I'd bet anyone on here a few bucks he doesn't make it in the NFL. I'll be pretty surprised if he is even drafted.
Well vs the best defense we played this year , UGA, Montrell averaged 9.1 yds per rush. He then had 7.1 avg vs. Mizzou and then 5.9 avg vs FSU. Not sure your criteria of mediocre but that doesn't sound mediocre to me. When the last time a mediocre RB avg 9.1 yds a carry vs UGA?
Why you are trying to compare them to 3 of the greatest RB's to ever play the game is beyond me. I'll tell you what, I'd bet you a few bucks that neither one of them will ever even be in the same stratosphere as those 3 RB's you just listed. But let's just knock em amd say they are mediocre bc they are not Bo Jackson, Herschel walker or Emmitt Smith.
I'm not knocking ETN. He's no Bo, Herschel or even ES, but he's a pretty good runner. Best pure runner we've had since Fred Taylor IMO. Just wish he'd come along when we had a good team. Montrell OTOH is just meh. He's not terrible though. He'd be OK as a 3rd RB or for pass plays since ETN can't pass pro. Would never make it at gump or mutt U and probably several other bigtime schools that recruit well.
I didn't see any of those games. I'm only going by what I've seen of him. Maybe he's just sucked when I watched him.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Imagine saying a RB has poor vision and everyone else is dumb when you didn't even watch the games.
On on a flip side if you didn't watch the games at the end of the year how do you know how good ETN really is since the toughest defenses we played all year were at the tail end of our schedule? Are you making your critique of him vs the easier defensive teams on our schedule?
