If Johnson doesn't return then Etienne would be RB1 and he is butt hurt from having to wait his turn.

imo, with ETN it’s not about having to wait his turn. I dont even think it’s about being RB1. I think it’s how he’s being utilized and our OL. Put yourself in his shoes, is returning to UF his BEST option?

I mean he is going to the league no matter where he plays really, so its a bit crappy tbh. Obviously there could be things at play no one here knows about, did he get promised something he didn't get? But really hate to see him go.

Well... what's in the best interest for UF is for him to play poorly if he goes to a rival, so hopefully that happens I guess. Personally, I'd prefer that every RB in the conference aside from ours average 2 ypc and 0 scores

The grass is always green…with bad OL he still ran for 700 yards. The scheme has to help..

Will CBN give insight to some of these questions. Obviously, it's not about losing the position coach because CBN hasn't fired any offensive coaches.

I don't know. He averaged 5.7 ypc this year. A little over 6 last year. That's not terrible and some of his highlights there were some massive holes to run through. UGA's RB1 averaged 5.2 ypc this year. True, Milton did have 6 ypc. But, it's tough to blame it all on the OL. They were way worse in pass blocking (right along with ETN I might add).

Frankly, any RB who blames his OL for his production isn't really a team player. Heck, didn't I see a pic of him with "me vs me" on his tape? What was that about? But, I guess there is an "m" and an "e" in "team".

Is this where we are at now? Every single offseason a talented player analyzes if the team he committed to and is paying him to live his dreams is his BEST option? This crap is wayyy out of hand and players like ETN will be the reason it gets regulated.

sure Trevor, go possibly win a ring with UGA then leave. Disgusting behavior

My point overall is, there’s not one person on this board who would say to their son to stay at UF over UGA going into 2024 if he was going to be a guaranteed starter if he goes to UGA

The sooner yall accept we’re a feeder program the better yall will be. The best player(s) on a middling .500 team will more than likely get plucked by a CFP contending team. It is what it is until we win consistently

Now you've gone too far. I would not tell my son to go to uga. Is your justification that he would make more money? Not sure I follow.

That's such a big qualifier, it basically takes away the point. Confidence is everything, but I don't see in ETN more than I see in what Smart recruits every year. I dont see ETN as guaranteed RB1, and he has glaring holes in his game. Smart's eval could be what hurts UF helps Uga. He got a lot of exposure at UF.

with ETN, it isn’t about money as big bro got that held down. It’s about WINNING. If you were going to make the same money, stats, etc but one team is all but assured to be a 11+ win team while the team you’ve been on has only won 11 games in two years……

sorry your either a Gator or your not. these players are soft. ETN is not pushing his OL and other players even his coach to get better he bailed wouldn't want him in a foxhole with me period. You have players that are dogs and push others around him sounds like ETN all he wanted to do was complain and get his. You get blown up in the backfield you go to your linemen and call them out you go to the QB and say give me that rock again im going to hurt somebody! Thats what this team has zero of. If I am going to call out ETN and the players on being soft I have to also call out BN the other day when that punk kid took a vid of him asking BN smile if LSU just dropped 50 on you and he laughs and walks away. NOPE I would have smashed that kids phone and had I few choice words for him, try that with Urban, Smart or Saban ........NOPE yes would have made the news yes I would have to buy him a new phone , but NO apology and the players would say THATS MY COACH HE IS A BEAST. we have no one on this team like that. ZERO not coaches not players coach chaos ...please he needed to go. Now you got Skippy running the D who are you bringing in for DL and CB? Chadsworth and BIF ? OR Tyson and the Undertaker? went old school there. NO ONE FEARS US. UF is soft.

That’s soft. I hope he ends up at Georgia, and I hope they lose.

Seems to be a lot of people mad at the symptoms rather than the problem. ETN leaving is a symptom of a program stuck in neutral. He is a symptom of an overall shift in CFB to do what is best for you and only you (I would argue this is a whole society/generational thing, but not the place for it). Grateful for 2 years of what he contributed and I would have like to see him be used more. I wish him the best of luck, except playing against UF, then I hope he drops passes, whiffs blocks and fumbles.

Yes, you would have had to buy him a new phone. You also would have been arrested for theft and destruction of property. Being the phone was probably over $1000, it would be considered a felony. As a high profile coach, the university would have to fire you. Then the family would sue you in civil court and you would settle out for 5 or 6 figures.

Also if you consider ETN and the others soft and wouldn't want them, do you feel the same way about Mertz and the other transfers that "jumped out of a foxhole" to come to Florida? Are they soft as well?

You didn't think this post out.

I would, and I would also wager quite a few others on here would. I’ve always taught my son to honor his commitments. I realize sometimes other parties don’t always honor their commitments, but that’s doesn’t appear to be the case here.
I guess that’s an old fashioned sentiment these days, but us old fools that still believe in things like; honor, and keeping your word, and other such nonsense won’t be around much longer so you’ll have it your way soon enough… I hope it works out for you.
ETN is free according to the rules to do what he wants. I don’t harbor any ill will towards him, I hope he succeeds in the rest of his journey through life, but if he goes to Georgia or FSU you’ll have to excuse me, (or not) if I don’t cheer him on.
