Let's be honest. Nobody on this board knows diddly jack shit about who we are and if they did, they wouldn't be posting about it on this board. Many on this board, though, think they know who we are. Many of those many are wrong.

Depends on what ranking you look at and I'll give you Texas and Michigan which are also ranked around us and are in the CFP this season. It can be done; academics and good football can coexist.

Was thinking the same. Personally I still enjoy watching. Have a kid, it’ll just give you perspective and more time with them.

Also don’t you remember the many years FSU wasn’t beating anyone? Not long ago.

Or how about like couple decades we couldn’t stop being Georgia and Tenn (continues), and Kentucky? You thought that would last forever. Even LSU as a gator starting to root as early as 95, I was amazed the first time they beat us. I thought they were patsys in the 90s. Up and down is the ebb and flow of winning in this large parotid playing field. Chill out and just learn to be happier than angrier y’all.

Something tells me you won't make it to 10 posts. Before you're ushered out, though, are you guys really going to duck UGA in an attempt to save face for all of the whining you've done over not making the playoffs?

This board is one big harumph right now and as it relates to Gator football, rightly so.

You know they want to duck UGA, but probably can't because of all the backlash they would get and it is pretty much would cement you as the biggest coward on the block (remember they ducked Clemson in 2020 but were good to go when it was time to play Duke)

College football players moving around has always been an NCAA purview of responsibilities/regulations. Leave the coaches out of this discussion...

I'm grateful for those trophies. And I think they've caused us, as fans, to expect that we can continue to achieve that level of success.

Spurrier dominated the hell out of the SEC for 12 years as head coach here. Only lost FIVE TIMES at the Swamp in that run...incredible. And even he was only able to win it all ONCE.

We caught lightning in a bottle with Meyer/Tebow/Harvin and won the other two...and more SEC championships.

We haven't won ANYTHING...before or since. I'm proud of those 3 trophies, but we aren't a blue blood football school because of them. Not anymore than we're a basketball school because of Billy D's success 15 years ago.

Great athletic department, top to bottom. Great academic institution. Will play some good football here and there. But we aren't a football school. Tough to swallow, but I think it's true.

Yep. The South is all about faith, family, and football, although in practice, the priorities are exactly reversed if you're a booster at a non-AAU university. Bagmen are deacons passing the collection plate.

No, we simply have the problem of a guy who's tall, dark, handsome, and broke. He's no better off than the guy who's short, pale, ugly, and broke if he's always going to be broke.

How do you explain FSU then, a so called “academic institution”, cough-cough, that will lie, bribe, cheat, throw out academic standards, proudly discriminates against native Americans, take money from academics, etc? They are located in Florida, right?
Also, why should the UAA even move forward on a stadium renovation? Should they not just let it fall into disrepair and condemn it ? Just play ball off campus like some other crap hole school we all know.

It seems to me the consensus by most was next year would be brutal for us, and we would have trouble having a winning record. I will wait until after the new year, when most of the portal transfers, coaching staffs, and early recruiting will all be shaken out. Maybe we will be in a lot better place than we originally perceived?

There is only one way we remain a competitive football program in the top three or four of the SEC and that is getting a coach that has a decided game day, schematic advantage, and then hopefully a recruiting boost from kids that want to play in that system. That is the only way. We will not be a football power trying to build it by stacking classes.

All of it is relative, so you can't leave the coaches exorbitant salaries, ability to leave anytime with no penalties, fired and still collect on their contract, etc. out of the discussion on what the student athletes can and can't do.

I agree. Someone like Lane Kiffin, as much as I don't like him. He's proven that he can trade punches with the big boys and recruits the portal much better than most.
