Reminiscent of the excellent movie, Enemy at the Gates, which shows commissars setting up machine guns behind their own infantry assaults, gunning down any retreating Russian soldiers. Nor is it a fiction, that was a common practice by the Russians, especially in 41 and 42.

I would like to add I am very distressed regarding the US Govts political squabbling regarding current funding for the Ukranian war effort.

For me it's the height of ignorance and stupidity and demonstrates what a bunch of selfish political hacks that infest the halls of governance.

And I blame both parties. It must be incredibly discouraging to the Ukranian soldier and populace, whom are spilling oceans of blood, protecting Western Europe and American strategic interests, watch the disgusting political theater here in our country.

It is a betrayal of the highest magnitude in my opinion.

I was with you till this part.

This is 100% being caused by the GOP. Any attempt to "both sides" this is ridiculous.

My guess is you are a pub and as such are "both sides"ing this issue to maintain your belief that the Dems are still the bad guys.

My understanding was it was a relatively clean bill funding Ukraine and Israel. The republicans demanded border security spending too.

That's what pootie pie is hoping for: a gop win in 2024, the aid to Ukraine dries up and he can do what he pleases (and he won't stop there).

You’re not going to defeat Russia with emotives.

For about the 27th time, this is an American war against Russia *by proxy* the only kind of war a degraded US is capable of fighting. And they are losing YUGELY.

Well, you are revealing you are a “Dem” if you don’t realize the “both sides” element to this. Which side has kept the President from taking the necessary (yet still not done) actions of using the DPA to increase munitions, food, and fuel output? Which side has dissuaded him from using his executive authority to build up air, sea, and land forces in Eastern Europe as a deterrent? I fully acknowledge the BS obstructionism of Gaetz, Boebert, et al and the BS reasons they’re really doing it. But it does not excuse the half-ass measures of this Administration for the better part of two years now.

Hi, I would like to explain.

First, I am a registered Democrat and am solidly against Trump, the MAGA movement, (ALL TRAITORS) their fanatics and send more contributions to various DNC campaigns that I can really afford, so that should clarify that.

Does this mean that I am "In Love" with everything Democrat? ABSOLUTELY NOT. For me it's a choice between BAD (Democrat) and INCOMPREHENSIBLY PATHETIC (GOP).

So, to get to the point, the reason I lump the Democrats in is this: This conflict, from my point of view, is so IMPORTANT (in terms of supporting Ukraine), that if Democrats have to acquiesce to Republican Border and Immigration policies, well bite the bullet. The fight in Ukraine is literally to perserve Western Civilization, NATO and U.S. strategic policy that has been so dearly fought for since post WW2.

Yes, and in true American political fashion, lets get our political brownie points in (GOP), NEVER MIND, the defining military struggle of the 21st century is in the balance right now.

I tend to agree with your repeated posts regarding the "half-ass" measures of the administration. And I know you have disavowed Trump, however in Gatorheads "Who's responsible meter" I place it 80% GOP and 20% Dem's". Trump and his MAGA lot, would basicly hand Ukraine over to Putin with a Bow and Ribbon.

Well of course. Thats the Putin plan. I may only hope the rest of NATO steps up until the House can unlock the strangle hold of about 8 - 10 MAGA traitors, liars and theives.

I don’t know if that’s true, but I do know it isn’t relevant. Trump is not President and will never be President again. A hypothetical that he would have lost this war even faster is not much of an argument in support of this Administration.

An argument that his acolytes in the House whom are blocking a 61 Billion dollar aid package is relevent to the conversation in my opinion.

I dunno, a few hundred thousand dead Americans in grave yards and multiple trillions of dollars of American treasure may speak otherwise.

Their argument about saving money by not helping Ukraine is penny wise and pound foolish. It will be far more expensive in many ways to allow Pootie to build his empire. These despots never just stop and their appetite is insatiable.
