Just in name only to justify the salary and stroke the egos.

Please no, good God. Rob Sale should in no way continue with any OC responsibilities. He and Stapleton need to be let go and we need to hire one OL coach with no OC duties.

We need a specific coach to run the un-Special Team. Maybe someone who can teach the players that some of their on-field losing it will have an impact on their fellow players. If we don't get a real play caller for the offence, nothing in the win-lose column will change.

Well I like the offense if we fix offensive line. We need to bring in someone that knows how to recruit O line and bring in great transfers at O line for sure and if this Stapleton guy is in charge of that now then I agree he needs to go

agree in theory. Stricklin will not get a chance to hire a third football coach. When/if Billy goes- I believe the AD is canned the same day or prior to. New university president will hire a new AD and probably consultants for a coaching search.

In this transfer portal, NIL which we sneak around offering small amounts, not ready for prime time, we will never have a great SEC line. Never, good maybe but not great. This is the reason we need a new offensive coordinator, one to bring excitement to the offense and even possibly out score some of our SEC brethren. this doesn’t mean to not have a running game. We as Gators have tried this before the computer and the transfer portal and NIL. You can’t process your way over many years, you have to get the offense moving and scoring touchdowns. These last two realities don’t allow for the weak administrations to cower to anything money when it comes to athletes. You have to prove it on the field you are getting better. Another losing season won’t go well for CBN. He needs to give the control of the offense to someone who has proven they can get it moving pretty quick. As for the defense, CBN made a big mistake with his first hire, AA probably has one year to figure out zone defenses, the way we play it is prevent defense, the way we play it. These don’t work and don’t help the line of scrimmage rush be aggressive. I am starting to get depressed over the state of the football program as we are the laughing stock for the SEC and the state of Florida. Billy has an ego like all human beings and not making moves on his coaches to change things up with the offenses/defensive coaches, with recruiting flying in our face, is a bad look for the UF program. Doing the same thing over and over on a lackluster offense will not bring wins. Lagway is probably good but there are no guarantees he can step up from day one handing off the ball. He has never done that before. LOL

If we fire either OL coach, then I'd say there is a chance. If we don't, then the answer to the OP is "no".

That is the main reason I have been skeptical... Even if someone is on an expiring contract I would think that there would be more news about it. What are the odds that nobody wants the job?

If he doesn’t, we will have learned something about his ability to evaluate capabilities and limitations. If he makes no changes to playcalling or special teams, and we see the same amateur hour BS on the field as we have been, then if nothing else maybe there won’t be as much clamor for a guaranteed fourth season in the event of third disastrous season.

To be fair, offensive production, esp given our abysmal OL, was a STRENGTH of this team. The primary argument for an OC is to allow him to run the team as more of a CEO than a coach. But that is a big paradigm shift for him, and he may not want to do that. I assume he sees the offensive productivity and thinks it is reasonably good, and therefore not in need of an upgrade.

Just a feeling that all that will change is the 'OC in name only', play calling will still be the same.

If the ad goes, most coaches usually go also. I don’t think the money guys are ready to blow anything up just yet.its been tge opinion of some that Napier will at least start 25 and see where it goes from there.
