In all seriousness, the committee made the decision purely for monetary considerations, believing Bama is a more attractive matchup for TV ratings, etc. What did FSU really expect? That’s the way of the world in anything beyond the closest relationships. They sound like someone who surprised they got laid off because the company always referred to employees as family, as if they were ever sincere. I understand being upset, but all of this comes across as a bit naïve.
Why did Bobby Bowden choose to join the ACC in the first place? I'm old enough to remember why. Boyz will be boyz, and it's better not to play with the big boyz.
BestOdds on Instagram: "Texas and Alabama began Championship Weekend ranked 7th and 8th respectively and now they’re both playoff bound despite Florida State finishing a perfect 13-0 this season #football #collegefootball #cfb #ncaaf #collegefootballsaturday #collegefootballplayoff #michiganwolverines #goblue #washingtonhuskies #universityofwashington #texaslonghorns #hookemhorns #hookem #universityoftexas #alabamafootball #rolltide #rolltideroll #sweethomealabama #floridastateuniversity #gonoles #memes #funny #betting #sportsbetting #gambling #sportsgambling" lmao The Danny Kanell recording is the real chefs kiss.
Really? So, it didn’t have anything to do with FSU not being a very good team right now? Damn, the Gators almost beat them and they suck. My money would be on Liberty University to kick FSU’s butts if they were to play each other.
The F$U defenders keep throwing their statistics around how about this one I put together for a Nole friend of mine last night. Looking at those numbers I would say two or 3 of the playoff teams should be SEC teams.
Those two are not mutually exclusive. Part of the reason they are not as attractive for ratings is because they are perceived, likely correctly, that they are not as good. I am countering the FSU argument that their record and conference title mean they "deserve" a spot. Two different routes to the same conclusion.
if the selection of teams to compete in either the football playoffs or the NCAA basketball tournament takes into account TV ratings, then we should get rid of both tournaments.
What is more impressive is of those 14 SEC champions in the last 20 years, there are 5 different teams in there, Florida 2, Auburn, Georgia 2, LSU 3, Alabama 6
I disagree. If Travis hadn't been injured, UFS likely would have beaten Louisville and us a bit more convincingly. They would have made the cut.
I still think even with Travis they would have the worst odds of winning it all. But it was at least plausible. Without him they had no chance. Anyone who watches CFB could see that after both the UF and Louisville games.
I think the committee may have taken the FSU tomahawk chop and warchant into consideration. They probably agreed that it's something that no one wants to see and hear.
That shit is so annoying. And I’m not just saying that as a UF fan. Like their band really needs to learn something/anything else.
And just like West Virginia, FSU will get curbstomped in a high end bowl game by a superior team from the SEC. (for West Virginia, it was the Gators in the Sugar Bowl trouncing them by 60 points or so)
