My thoughts are this... Nobody on the offensive side of the staff has been let go (that I am aware of) and if we add someone in, that changes the makeup of the how CBN has the staff constructed (would also change Rob Sale to co-OC?). I am assuming we replace Raymond and Spencer which will make up the 10 on-field coaches. So who gets fired and why have they not been let go already? Maybe CBN's first choice OC is not available so he has not made the move.

I personally think that Napier is content with the offense, especially with the way Mertz performed with Napier calling plays, but he is willing to make changes if he has a top choice OC willing to take the job.

We already have one, or two? I forget, but no, we won't be hiring someone new to call plays.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if he does hire an OC but not holding my breath.

Make Sale OC and hire one real o line coach and recruit and get in portal (pay good money) for a great o line and offense is solid I think.

my concern is defense. Bring in Durkin as co DC and then pay up in portal for some D lineman (keep McClellan) and add 2 linebackers and a lock down corner.
Then get in 12 team playoff next year.

He would be signing his pink slip if he doesn't.

Billy has said he likes play calling. It’s going to be tough for him to give that up.

I’m expecting Calloway getting the title. Let the hand wringing commence!

It will take a culmination of Stricklin (his job is on the line also) and some benefactors known as the brain trust. I think Mike White was told to get him some help on offense and he said "I will try it my way one more time and if I go down, I will go down my way." And he went down.

Napier could play the same song. His choice.

And I do believe it WILL end badly for him. This is not a rainbows and unicorns business. It is DAMN TOUGH.

And if he doesn’t realize that then it’s on him. Still gonna get paid.

Oh good, we needed another OC thread...

Current OC/OL and the other OL are on expiring contracts. Just because something hasn't been announced yet doesn't mean it's not happening.

I have a feeling he already is calling plays now. I kind of like the offense now if they improved the offensive line I will really love our offense. Our problems are O line and defense IMO. Take some load off of Napier and let Sale call plays with Napier chiming in at times. I think to fix team it is buy a really good o line in portal and bring in a co-DC like Durkin and bring in linebackers and d lineman and a lock down corner from portal (buy them). Just my thoughts.

That is correct, but it is also on Stricklin and the brain trust. You have to realize the scope and enormity of the job and what are both his answers and his track record doing what he said. Any less is being negligent.

Didn't our departing DL coach already have a co-DC title?

One of the O line coaches (maybe both) contract expire within days. Don’t have to fire them. Just don’t re hire them.

true, but AA was listed as the DC, so I'd presume that Spenser was more of "Assistant" co-DC. I never thought "co-anything" was a good thing, to many cooks in the kitchen

It’s either going to be Willie Korn, Kerwin Bell, or Steve Spurrier. The threads have spoken.
