The most delicious part of this is that the ACC voted against expanding the playoffs for THIS YEAR. Clowns

This board is slipping. Only three of the first five threads are informed by DeSantis Derangement Syndrome - DDS.

I read that. Not sure if the ACC might be a potential plaintiff or who all else might have standing to sue. I wonder how objections to expanding the playoffs might come into play.

Except that would never happen if the Gators went 13-0 and won the SEC. Strength of schedule matters a lot.

Such a stupid use of tax dollars and abuse of the legal system. I understand being upset, but this is not the basis for a lawsuit. Someone needs to be the adults in the room and explain that.

I dislike admitting this, but UFS will have no problem finding a firm of outside lawyers to convince they have the most airtight cause of action in the history of American jurisprudence. That firm, however, will be absolutely unwilling to take that case on a contingency fee basis.

I suspect that FSU does not file a lawsuit. Just cuz Performance Ron set aside a mil, doesn't mean they have to waste their time.

The money won’t actually get spent, it’s just a cheap political point that everyone knows isn’t going anywhere.

He said himself on Fox News last night that he didn’t see how there was any way a lawsuit could actually get FSU anything, but that they and the Board of Governors were looking into it and if they came up with some way that litigation would actually be helpful the state would set aside some money for it.

Absolutely. And I'm judging as a 62-year-old. When I was younger and more hotheaded, I would've probably wanted the state and the law to do anything to help ease my frustration. But as you get older and hopefully wiser, you realize that is not what the law or the state is supposed to do or can do. I understand their frustration. If they want to leave the conference or take some other football business measure, I understand. But it's not a lawsuit. I'm quite certain the committee had the legitimate power to do whatever they did

$1 million paid to a firm that's owned by one of Ron's big donors

Good question. Tortious interference? Civil conspiracy to interfere with contract or contractual relationships? Fraud? Even assuming an entity with standing could prove members of the committee were paid off, for example, what would the remedy be? A new committee taking another vote? Monetary damages?

I vote for intentional infliction of emotional upset. It was a plot by Disney and ESPN to embarrass UFS on a national scale.

There isn’t a cause of action or a remedy. This is just pandering to the idiots who got on Twitter and said “look, Herbstreit had the right 4 helmets behind him before they were announced, conspiracy, we should sue!”

I would think monetary damages. Not that I think anything actually happens on tnis.

If they do this I want to open a lawsuit against the Downtown Athletic Club for not awarding Trask the Heisman in 2020.

DeSantis Derangement Syndrome is real. It's symptoms include multiple feeble attempts by Meatball Ron DeSanctimonious to emulate his defacto mentor and former role model, the defeated indicted former president. In this case it's filing or more accurately threatening to file a frivolous lawsuit.
Example of frivolous lawsuit filed by Trump.
Millions, billions: Judge tosses Trump's lawsuit over his worth
