I thought this was a sports related story about the noles but apparently the mods thought differently. In the proposed budget by Governor DeSantis he’s included one million for FSU to sue over its playoff omission. https://247sports.com/college/flori...college-football-playoff-committee-222366682/
Absurd that our tax dollars have to go towards that. Can we abstain from paying taxes this year for religious purposes? Gator football is my religion and this would be like paying for the landscaping around the gates of hell
Since Ronbo has no chance in Hell of becoming President - shudder! - he’s running for reelection now and pandering, which is his want.
Yeah what’s the desired outcome? The playoffs will be long over. They gonna sue for money? And on what grounds will they even sue? They aren’t going to prove collusion with ESPN, they aren’t going to prove malfeasance towards FSU. Seriously, what are their grounds for the suit?
I feel like litigation would be more justified if people were focused on changing the system to make it less subjective or more fair in the future. But they're already moving to 12 playoff teams next year, and any team on the bubble at that point is going to have a much tougher time arguing that they should be in the title picture.
And by the way, you could just change th thread title to FSU is embarrassing for the whole state of Florida.
No, we wouldn't. What's the cause of action that allows for the suit? This is nonsense and will be tossed out by ANY court.
If this was the Gators we would all be really pissed off. That being said I do not think that very many of us would be in support of using taxpayers' funds to finance a frivolous lawsuit.
You just know this ends up with a suit in which woke Disney gets sued for putting Bama in the playoffs because Nick Saban is vaccinated.
If it was the Gators - and if we had a Democrat governor - people here wouldn’t be wringing their hands about taxpayer funds for the first time in their lives.
