I can't wait until there is some more guardrails in place for the portal and NIL. I am more than fine with players getting some money and transferring once without sitting. But this wild west stuff is really taking the fun out of the game for me.
I agree, it is good the kids are getting some money now but this unlimited free agency is making it worse than pro sports for me! I suppose once everything settles and the roster is set for the season the excitement will be back but this time of year is crazier than ever!
I wouldn't mind another qb on the roster next year. College football stars Kyle McCord, Dillon Gabriel enter transfer portal
We definitely getting an experienced guy. Not sure many will want to battle it out with Mertz unfortunately.
Solution was, and still is, very simple. Players are employees of the university and viola, the university has a right to limit their contracting with third parties. But the ncaa wanted none of that: keep all revenue and forbid students from outside employment. Only way this gets fixed and it REALLY needs to be fixed. This is a joke.
You know, five years ago I would have disagreed with this vehemently. But, in the current situation, pay is already on the table, but, in an uncontrolled way. If the player is getting all the rights of an employee with few of the responsibilities, a change needs to be made. Make signing day a true employment contract signing day at this point.
