Everybody is going to lose a lot. It’s part of the game now.

Theoretically the best recruiting teams will lose the most because they can convince 25-30 new players/year to come on board. Which is why I'm not shocked that OSU is losing so many.

Gone are the days when people only bring in 15-18 kids on a year they don't have enough ships. Kicking kids off the team doesn't feel as slimy now because you know they can transfer elsewhere.

Schollys are officially a one year offer, like they've always been at Bama. Another great improvement for the sport overall.

Current verbals are helpful but only 2-3 will make a difference next year. Really need portal help for immediate on field success

And certainly not all bad as far as program is concerned. McClellan to this point seems the biggest loss.

But this doesn’t include the people we already know are leaving that are seniors/juniors

We needed about a dozen extra to leave to make room for the hs class. A few more if you want to bring in transfers. I’m hopeful the majority of those leaving have already announced. Exit interviews should have been wrapped up by now. No bowl game or any other reasons to still be hanging around for a little while longer. If you’re leaving, go.

It does. I think I heard we just to 85 with the current verbal commits. We still need more if we want any transfers. Of course, that number doesn’t need to hit until fall practices start so attrition will need to continue before then.

Nope...as of this moment we're at 78, so room for 7 as of right now.

This assumes all the Jr's that walked on Senior Day leave, which is what's happening thus far.

Yes….and the dozen or so more we need doesn’t include all the people who are seniors and juniors leaving early. Which is what I was saying

Yeah that’s what I am saying though, we are saying the same thing.

people are thinking we need to drop 12 or so more for our class to fit. THEN additional people need to leave for transfers. When in fact, we can fit our class now (or very close to it) because the juniors/seniors who are leaving aren’t factored into the 12 transfers that are leaving. We are in a much better place number wise than people who think we need a dozen more to leave for our class, plus additional to leave for any transfers to come.

We are saying the same thing

no you don’t as I just stated I know someone personally who did just that. never in the military no ROTC…. Signed on with the Navy specifically to train with the seal team. Believe he did have some basic training prior to seal training, which is required of all of them.

You can contract to go SEALS as a civilian, but you still become active duty and go through a different boot camp just for those moving on to seal training. It is a little bit harder than normal boot camp in an effort to weed out. There are paid civilian programs that people that want to be seals can go to before but they are not affiliated with the Navy.

Before you had to be in the military for a period of time before you could go BUDS.

So yes the person you know probably contracted to go SEALS as a civilian, but he was active duty when he did training and will be if he does BUDS. CIVILIANS DO NOT GO THROUGH BUDS.
