Looking ahead to the 2025 recruiting class, the 2026 season, I think UF will want to add 1 more gymnast. However, most of the top ranked gymnasts have already committed. There is one 5 stars from Canada left uncommitted and a few 4 stars.

    UF has three 2025 commitments:

    Jocelyn Sasson - 5 stars
    Maddy Dorbin - 5 stars
Amelia Disidore - 4 stars w/5-star talent (US Sr Nat'l Team)

CJR has used the transfer portal in the past. It wouldn't surprise me if UF went in the transfer portal direction for a gymnast with a good UF fit.

I miss the days of being able to attend such events. Is there still a GGG?

Yes. It is not well publicized though.

Thanks. Back in the day I was a student member. When I say "back in the day," I mean way back. I attended a GGG get together with Ellfi Schlagel and Maria Anz :D. Yeah, that was a long time ago!

I just returned from the Gymnastics Hype Night. It was well done and a lot of fun. I was a little disappointed in the attendance. It was by no means sparse but not as full as I thought it would be.
We got to see 5 of the 6 freshmen. Danie Ferris was not dressed out.
Alyssa Arana performed on bars and did okay.
Gabby Disidore did compete, but I am drawing a blank.
Kaylee Bluffstone had some really good moments on the floor and beam.
Skylar Draser is the real deal. If I am not mistaken, she did the AA.
But, the star of the freshmen was Anya Pilgrim. She was outstanding in all four events. It is too early to say this, but she might be the next Trinity.
Of the returnees, I was most proud to see Morgan Hurd perform on beam and floor. That is really an encouraging sign.
Lori Brubach, Chloi Clark, and Bri Edwards had some really good moments. Baby Chloi has finally grown up.
Elli Lazarri seems to have recovered her form from her Achilles injury. I think she was AA and acquitted herself well.
Victoria Nguyen is just elegant on the floor.
Payton Richards had some really good moments on the floor.
Leanne was Leanne, except she did not do her tumbling passes on the floor.
Jeremy has outdone himself with the floor routines. There are some great ones.
One of the most interesting things was that Jeremy and Trinity described each event and what to look for as they were performed.
We may have some growing pains as the season progresses, but I am excited to see what happens.

Riley is out for the season. I think she has a broken foot. Big loss.\

Huge loss! How does this NOT get reported in the news?

EDIT: College Gym News listed Riley with left foot surgery on 11/29 and Danie with left hand/wrist injury in cast on 12/4. Both are season changing injuries:

Riley McCusker Long term Left foot boot and surgery 11/29/23.
    Danie Ferris Unknown Left wrist/hand cast/brace 12/04/23.

Agree with Scrappy on Morgan and Victoria. Morgan is getting close and has another month to refine before the start of the season. Victoria is graceful in everything she does, similar to Leanne in that regard. Victoria's 1.5 on vault is excellent, just needs to stick the landing. Last year, Victoria looked timid vaulting, but her timidness seems to have been replaced with confidence.

Anya Pilgrim performing internationally for Barbados has her primed for a good freshman season.

Skylar Draser looks powerful and athletic for a freshman. As Scrappy pointed out, it looks like another AA available if needed.

I hope Danie's hand/wrist injury heals in time for her to be back by early February. That gives her time to recover and to get back into performance shape. Danie is as good as any freshman gymnast in the nation on vault, bars, and floor with beam being her weak link to work on. She reclassified from 2024 to 2023 so she would ordinarily still be in high school. However, Danie is far from being an ordinary gymnast or person. She can't get back soon enough to help the Gators in the 2024 season.

Riley's loss is a huge lineup negative, but UF is blessed to have talented depth. Counting Danie whom I expect will be available for a good part of the season and NCAAs, UF has 15 gymnasts available to perform. It would be 16, but I can't count senior Michala as a performer even though she is a valuable team member as she has not had any meet counting performances in her first 3 seasons with UF. I just hope UF doesn't have any more injuries of the season ending variety. UF can still put together highly competitive lineups.

Nothing has been reported by the Independent Florida Alligator which is a bit of a surprise.

If you remember Victoria missed her first vault terribly last year. She, and we were fortunate she was not hurt. I think that accounts for her timidity.
