I’ll give my reasons apart from the $100. My hope is that if Saban wins it all, he will recognize that this is likely the last time, given the obvious declining nature of his program, and he will want to retire on top.
Not sure why the hatred of Bama by UF fans. Sure if we play them I want to beat the crap out of them and I guess some of you are tired of them winning, but they just did us a huge favor again!! They knocked our two biggest rivals out of the playoffs. Also, keep in mind that if not for Saban and Bama, UGA probably has at least two more natties in the last 7 years, likely more. So I hope Saban stays as long as he’s successful and keeps beating UGA regularly or at least splits with them as I’m not confident anyone else can on a regular basis as long as Smart continues to recruit like he is. Maybe Texas will be able to hold their own with UGA in the SEC starting next year too hopefully until we can be at that level again. Go Gators and anyone that is playing and beating UGA and the noles!
I know what you mean becasue they signed one of the best classes the last few years and they should be killing teams by more than they did this past season. If anything they played like underachievers in many games this year.
Sure, quick explanation for the comment: Saban is clearly feeling his years. I used to think he was going to stroke out on the sidelines with the little-man tirades he would throw. Looks to me like his physicians have come to the same conclusions. I don’t know if he’s been seeing a behavioralist and/or is on drugs to moderate his mood swings, but I see a different man out there now. That’s great for his family, but I’m also seeing Bama on a slide. That doesn’t mean they are not still one of the best teams in the country. No doubt. But I think Saban sees the momentum of history, and if he wants to go out on top, instead of like Bowden or Paterno, then this might be his best opportunity. A great deal of good fortune has broken Saban’s way to get Alabama into the playoffs and (almost as importantly) to keep Georgia out. But then again, some people just don’t know how to leave when on top, and the answer is always “one more.” So who knows?
Probably because Jim harbaugh is the most unlikeable person in sports and Michigan has become the new ND sneaking into big games other teams belong in by playing a schedule of exhibition games. FSU could probably give them a game with no QB.
How Michigan gets a pass is beyond me. OOC slate is sorry and basically play a one game schedule. I agree FSU d could probably shut them down for a game and make it competitive but they would also struggle to score and be left with Iowa vs Iowa type game.
I don’t even care who wins the title. I’m just so glad it isn’t Georgia. FSU also not winning is an added bonus.
