Scholarship or not, I’m glad that 90,000 people (in person) were not critiquing my every move when I was between 18 and 22 years old. Go Gators!
I felt differently as a freshman in 1963. The players were more or less amateurs then. Not so much now.
Sorry to speak of times before you were born and have no knowledge of. One day you will be accused of the same. As for “crap,” I was there when Spurrier kicked a field goat to win a game. Look it up.
You know what I meant, and I knew what you mean. But the point was that we should not throw shade on any of our players, he just tried to make it about just the young players, which was a mistake, IMHO.
Lol... you are not alone doing that, my friend. And I don't think you are an azz for being human... like the rest of us. You know... I'm over thinking it... carry on.
I can't help but watch the woman on the right pretend to be interested in whatever the hand talker is blabbing about.
Paid, yes. Professionals, not so much. Yes they get checks now, but make no mistake. 95% of these check collecting college kids will never sniff the pros. Just the way I see it. They are akin to the electricians helper. The electrician is the professional, these kids are still learning the trade.
You are correct. But the fault here lies with the dumbass “adults” who thought it was a good idea to force all of this nonsense into college sports. A stipend to all players would have been a better option and was advocated by many people at the time. So while I agree with you in concept, I will still consider them as immature college kids, which is, after all is said and done, what they are. The sport has been ruined. I’m afraid permanently. There’s no way to get all of the styrofoam beans back into the beanbag chair.
