That would be amazing if they did award themselves the NC trophy, it would be even more embarrassing than the banner they hung in basketball during Covid for finishing top 4 in the country when the tournament was canceled. What a second rate university and athletics program. Lol.

 

Their whining over the next few weeks could yield us a huge helping of schadenfreude if UGa whips them. I hate both teams but I'll be rooting for that outcome.
Think of all the times being in the ACC helped them with their record. This is sweet payback and I hope they rot away now in that conference.

It is quite simple (I know that is not the reason for the thread). There are two games to figure out who will be crowned NC. If an obviously limited FSU team is "honored" to play a semi against Michigan and gets slaughtered, the other game may be a real doozy and the winner worn down some. But since Michigan gets a break and they would in theory be more rested for the NC game.

Maybe there can be an all-out team-to-team competition between the Noles and UCF in tiddlywinks. THAT will show who is the true champion. Honest.

Btw, has anybody heard anybody run real smack along the lines of FSU would legit straight up kick UGA/Bama/Texas' ass?

Cause all I'm hearing from EVERYBODY is that FSU deserved a spot in the POs bc the were undefeated (while implicitly acknowledging they are not one of the 4 best teams in CFB).

Even Kanell here, expressly caveats with IF [they beat UGA], and even that came after a checking himself pause.

 

He can blame his own ACC Confernce Commissionor for not having a 12 team playoffs this year. Lol..

Yep, this is a fine sendoff of the broken system. I just wished they had stopped at 8. I realize that they did not have enough votes but still, that means there will be 4 weeks of games to get to the end, with 4 teams who are privileged to take a game off. That to me is both unfair and too damn long. JMHO

 

In the article is says that the ACC Commissioner, and two others, were the reason for the one year delay... so the ACC screwed FSU by delaying their support for the 12 team playoffs by one year... Lol... Poetic Justice.

 

It was rigged, the ACC officials made sure that FSU would remain undefeated.
