When we were in a two-team playoff system, there were many complaints about whether the two best teams survived to play each other. So, two more teams were added to the playoff format to ensure that, no matter what, the two best teams would be left to play each other. In the end, that's all that matters. Whether you are the fourth best team or fifth best team doesn't matter. If the best two teams are left in the mix to prove it on the field, that matters. Georgia can probably complain that they should still be in the mix. But, go suck an egg fsu. Take the extra time to learn a second song.

 

I would laugh if they draw Georgia. That way they can show the world how “good” they really are

 

That's always going to be the challenge. This year, the fifth and sixth best are complaining. Next year, we'll have to listen to #13 and #14 making arguments.

True, but it's similar to the first four out in the basketball tourney. Very little chance anybody in the 10-14 range would ever win it...but at least it makes up for the dissimilar conferences and schedules.

Yep, that's true. That's why I contend that as long as one and two are left in the mix, it will work itself out on the field. And, if you can't manage to get one and two in your top twelve, you might as well scrap your whole system.
