Bama lost to Texas. Bama beat Georgia. Now list FSU wins and they don’t seem very impressive. And they lost their quarterback who was a vital part of their team not just some quarterback

I agree. However, seeding will be uber important going forward. Would it be OK to give fsu a bye over Bama, UGa, Texas, etc? There will still be plenty to complain about...which is a good thing. At least going forward, more teams have a chance.

They struggled with a team that should be barely ranked yesterday

Here is the actual criteria that the committee uses:
    CFP Selection Committee Protocol

    Proposed Selection Process:
Establish a selection committee that will be instructed to place an emphasis on winning conference championships, strength of schedule and head‐to‐head competition when comparing teams with similar records and pedigree (treat final determination like a tie‐breaker; apply specific guidelines).

The criteria to be provided to the selection committee must be aligned with the ideals of the commissioners, presidents, athletic directors and coaches to honor regular season success while at the same time providing enough flexibility and discretion to select a non‐champion or independent under circumstances where that particular non‐champion or independent is unequivocally one of the four best teams in the country.

When circumstances at the margins indicate that teams are comparable, then the following criteria must be considered:
    • Championships won
    • Strength of schedule
    • Head‐to‐head competition (if it occurred)
    • Comparative outcomes of common opponents (without incenting margin of victory)

We believe that a selection committee of experts properly instructed (based on beliefs that the regular season is unique and must be preserved; and that championships won on the field and strength of schedule are important values that must be incorporated into the selection process) has very strong support throughout the college football community.

I think Bruno Mars and Nelly will perform sets before they announce anything.

They could’ve eaten three or four good teams if they had actually added them to their schedule, but once they lost Travis, they would’ve never won those games. Anyway,

this is a text I just sent to a seminal fan/friend of mine.
do you think you did enough to make it… Is it possible you could be jumped by a one loss, SEC or big 12 champion. Is the fact that you play in the ACC going to hurt you… Inquiring minds wanna know.

FSU has auditioned their second string and third string quarterback, the last two games and looked horrible. They won, but they beat too bad teams. And barely

Sure but still won and will have a month to look better. And looking awful isn't part of the selection criteria.

It'll be interesting to see the ratings of Washington / fsu. Probably the worst playoff matchup ever?

No, but I also counted an Ohio state university as dead without their first two QBs as well. My only question going into their games against Wisconsin, Alabama, and Oregon was how bad their loss would be.

    I don’t think there’s any question they’re the 2nd best conference.

Undefeated champions will never be left out again. I would absolutely love the 12 team playoff right now if it was here now. FSU would have zero chance to win but they could at least play. They may even luck out and get a first round game that they had a chance to win. The only way they win a playoff game this year is if they take a cheap shot and take the quarterback out and then just get extremely lucky from there. I don’t think they were a top 14 when they had Travis but with him I do agree they should have been in. Without him, no way

It’s also hard to ignore their defense, which can keep them in most games. Do I think they can win it all? Absolutely not! But I do think they earned the right to be there.

You’d have a hard time beating Georgia / TCU as the worst matchup ever. It’s a little early, but that might end up being the worst matchup of the 21st Century.

Michigan and Ohio State are probably better than Washington. I think Washington and Michigan get taken out in the first round though. That is if Alabama gets the fourth spot if FSU gets the fourth spot it is a walk over.

They barely got over 200 yards total offense against us and Louisville yesterday. FSU defense is good, but they simply have no shot without Travis. They will get beat by at least two touchdowns by anybody they play which includes Georgia in the sugar bowl

I don't think it's about FSU so much as it is about Bama taking advantage of a huge opportunity. Maybe the argument should be FSU vs. TX, though I suspect FSU loses that argument too.
