That was a different system than the current one and again just more fan thinking not committee criteria.
We aren’t in a position to laugh in any case, but if we were, I’d rather laugh like I did when Oregon manhandled SWAC, and Rapeis said with a straight face in the press conference, “It coulda gone [either] way.”
Yeah, it was a tight one to the end. In fact it was a tie game. It just got away from fsu, right after the opening kick.
We can still laugh. Me and several others fans were laughing at fsu fans for storming the field after beating us last year. It’s funny we aren’t good and they acted like they conquered Goliath.
Conference champ / undefeated are arbitrary, given that schedules are nowhere near equal. Here's a more objective look: Team.....SoS.....fpi.....Sagarin...Massey.....Avg Bama......5.........5.......5.............2...............4.3 FSU........55.......11......12...........7...............21.3 Obviously SoS skews the data point, but that IS the point. Bama played a far tougher slate is is a far tougher team. Throw in the fact that Bama slayed the dragon and FSU slayed . . . ?
I'd rather see them in and lose by 30 than hear about the "you never know argument" for the next 10 years.
They still got left out just like Auburn did that year. Modern or not modern, the four best teams are the four best teams
Who did they lose to? That's the only argument I can go to. I'd rather see them get in and get smoked, than them do the UCF argument for the next 10 years. Put em in, let it play out.
FYI.....I temporarily tweaked your thread title, @oneatatime - to better reflect the generalized CFP discussion thread we are having.....subject to further tweaking, if needed. Thanks for your cooperation!
And he beat number one Alabama from the four seed. do you actually believe FSU could beat anybody without Travis?
And Washington may be the best team in the country. We are about to find out. But last year when Oregon tried to play Georgia, there’s a pretty large gap there and I don’t think the SEC has fallen up far in one year.

Since that means Georgia would be frozen out, I have no objection. Whatever scenario — including SWAC getting in for a certain first-round loss — results in Georgia being left out and crying, is more than acceptable to me.
He looked the part in that one start. OSU went into that game knowing they had to make a statement with a backup QB …and did. It was FSU turn last night …and failed
