According to the committee, they already were a top 4 team. What did they do to disprove that?

They did run LSU out of the stadium and they were 2-0 vs the SEC. But if only because Travis is out I don’t see them taking the natty.

I might change my stance. Georgia played the weakest OOC schedule by far and only beat Georgia Tech by a touchdown. I don’t think they deserve to get in because of past season accomplishments. The fact is that they looked very human this season for several weeks and didn’t win the SEC. Having reviewed everything entirely, I’d have Michigan, Ohio St, Alabama, Texas.

If fsu had beat one of the top teams that were actually good without their qb, maybe.

The committee should consider how foolish they would look with the betting line came out if they should put f$u in

This is fan thinking. In the committee's hierarchy of thinking, all P5 schedules are equally weighted until later in the selection process.

SOS is a deciding factor only when the other criteria(conference champ, W/L record, head to head) is equal or similar.

LSU has three losses and while it’s a good win, it doesn’t mean they could beat anyone under consideration.

or the betting line and the sugar bowl with Georgia and FSU. They wouldn’t even be favored against Ohio State or Oregon or possibly a couple other teams without Travis

Travis got hurt and they struggled mightily against us and Louisville. travis, Travis, Travis, Travis, Travis. It’s hard to ignore that they don’t have him anymore

I agree with everything but ohio state. Washington beat as many ranked opponents as osu, won their conference, and finished undefeated.

Georgia has to sit this one out. Sorry, but that’s the way it is. Of all the teams we are discussing, they are the one who had the advantage yesterday of not needing to make an argument if they won; they would have been in, no additional discussion. Michigan, Washington, Alabama, Texas, and SWAC had absolutely no guarantees of getting in, even with a victory, which is why we’re still arguing about it. All Georgia had to do was win, and they couldn’t. I’ve been hearing all week, month, and year, how this is the greatest team that ever strapped on armor, but they couldn’t win a sure-fire play-in game when it mattered. They had their chance, and someone else is going to get legitimately screwed if Georgia is gifted an another unearned second chance like they were in 2021. It was BS then, and it’s BS now.

Let SWAC get its teeth kicked in during the first round. I’d prefer that to them pulling a UCF and having t-shirts made, crowning themselves champions.

On top of that Georgia had arguably the worst OOC of all of the teams looking for a spot. UT-Martin, Ball State, UAB, and GA Tech. That’s a joke of a schedule. That’s a bigger joke than every other teams OOC schedule that’s vying for a playoff spot. I think Michigan would envy Georgia’s OOC schedule.

This is my point, the entirety of the season has to mean something if not everything. How do you judge the 4 best teams? By personal opinions, which is totally subjective, or by the accomplishments on the field. I know I am in the minority but how do you keep any undefeated conference champions out of it? They earned the right to be there no matter what their current situation is. My 4:
    Michigan
    Washington
    FSU
    and……Texas

Michigan actually produced fewer offensive yards vs a lower ranked opponent, Iowa, than FSU did with a 3rd string FR QB does that drop Mich.?

Not what I’m saying. To the weak schedule argument, I return with stifling the most dynamic offense in the nation and the likely Heisman Trophy winner. They’re a very good team that will likely be hampered, going forward, by the loss of Travis. Indeed, it was evident when we played them.

and yet still won. There is precedent of a team with a 3rd string QB getting in to the playoffs 2014 OSU and they won it.

There’s also a president of the 2004 Auburn team that was undefeated in the SEC champion not getting in the national championship while I won lost Oklahoma team did. I think the SEC champions record in the playoffs should absolutely hold more weight than any other conference. It’s by far the superior conference of all conferences.
