Every team got left out of the 2004 CFP because it didn't exist yet...? I try to stop posting when I've had enough beers to forget things like this

Starting to think it will be convenient to leave the SEC out & I think that happens: fsu, wa, Tx, mi.

I think it will be fun if Georgia and Bama are left out and FSU gets they asses whooped. I’m not a fan of any of them and another Gump or Georgia NC makes recruiting just that much harder for Florida.

I said this back in October: "A lot of people seem to give the committee more credit than I do I guess. There will be relentless pressure to not include the SEC in the 1 year from now until the end of time that they will ever have any chance of not including the SEC."

Interested to see how prophetic that will be.

Will sleep well tonight knowing that either UGA or FSU is getting screwed tomorrow. If things go really well, maybe both of them

No way they exclude the SEC, especially Bama. FSU will be out, and rightfully so.

Primary factor many seem to be forgetting: $$$$$

Nolies are light weights compared to Texas and Alabama-- the teams they're vying against for that spot. Rating$....viewer$hip... moving product...

They're looking for reasons to get those schools in, not FSU; Travis injured gives them their out.

    The CYA remedy?

Pit FSU against UGA in bowl. Dawgs will silence any lingering questions with the inevitable throttling of the noles.

NB: OSU, Notre Dame and Bammer have all benefited from this. It's what drives precedent (precedent does not bind it).

If the committe puts FSU in, they would have to put them at 3 right? If you put a 1 loss team ahead of them (Tx or Bama), how would you justify not also taking the other one? The only way FSU gets in is being undefeated as the justification.

Georgia would beat every team except maybe bama. If the committee job is to pick four best teams, Georgia would be in. If they are not I am not complaining.

I somehow hate Michigan so I Hope Washington wins it all.

Just a thought… any possibility that the NCAA vacates Michigan’s wins due to cheating? Should Michigan be rewarded for bad behavior? Could it be argued that once caught, UM still carried that advantage as they allegedly already scouted the teams they hadn’t played, but beat after they were caught? If so, should Michigan be in if they are later going to be nullified?

I guess not since they only gave Hairball a slap on the wrist. Too much money involved for them to care about integrity.

I agree that it was a slap on the wrist, but it was delivered by his own conference, who must have thought there was enough evidence of wrongdoing to pass judgement. As far as the money, if Michigan were to lose tOSU, that still leaves them with an undefeated conference champion to participate in the playoffs.

Yeah the last year of only 4 teams they finally get to screw the SEC over before they expand to 12 and the SEC starts taking 1/3 of the field.

Do we have a third team this year?

I had to look and I guess Ole Miss and Missouri are in the top 12 with LSU at 13. If Texas and Oklahoma were sec, we would have six.
