at least we are having these discussions now, years past it would be just 2 or 3 of us on the thread ..thanks for the banter and the thoughts
yeah I have heard it all before but I dont buy you play games like this to improve playing on the road in conference. I have heard different things then that. But is what it is.
And this is exactly why you do not play these type of teams in their band box gyms. Regardless of what KRF believes there is nothing to be gained by these games traveling long distances to face garbage second rate refs and a team & crowd that believes this is their Super Bowl. Brutal, as we have 2 more of these coming up.
I don't disagree, but will add top programs do not do this type of scheduling. We are still a couple players away. You can't have your so called starting "sharpshooter" in Rimdahl shoot so consistently poorly and get repeatedly abused on defense. We have atleast 3 top players coming in next year so the trend is positive for us to eventually become a top program.
Dropped to 48 in ELO and 67 in RealTime RPI. We need to close out the nonconference schedule strong. We can afford one loss (Michigan should be favored) but have to win the rest. Then we need to go .500 in SEC play to get back to the NCAA. A win over Michigan would be nice for some breathing room come selection time.
Both of our losses were really close. In fact four of our last five games have been decided by four points or less. I really like this team, and I think they will make the tournament.
