I would disagree with this. Yes, kids were and are getting paid but there are still ace recruiters that every staff has. Recruiting is very much about relationships and certain assistant coaches are just great at it. Coach Sieder was a big reason Mac's last class was ranked as high as it was going into that season. D. Craig is/was Fisher's recruiting ace. There are several of these coaches that top coaches keep around for recruiting over coaching.
Well then the time to lock them down is before it hits twitter that they are entering. Bet there has been a bunch of tampering with these two.
And this…. To date Billy has extended 1 portal Offer. we would really tell he means business if he had two or three kids ready to commit on Monday, but we know that can’t happen when you only have one portal offer out 36 hours before the portal opens. Portal (understatement) strategy has to get way more aggressive immediately as many have mentioned for over a year.
I've generally supported Napier from the beginning but I have been critical of his portal strategy particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Goodwin was just terribly unfortunate circumstances that rippled through our entire offense but there has been no excuse for the defense and in particular linebacker and safety
yeah, I don’t think any of us would be so critical, If he at least tried to be aggressive. To this point, he’s not been aggressive at all, and it shows with extending offers at the pace he extends them.
Yes, sir, I continually hear Shane Matthews say it’s all about money and NIL and I disagree with him 100% as you might pay a kid a lot of money but if somebody else is going to pay him a lot of money it’s going to come down whether or not the team is winning or losing. Our strategy, the last two years has been puzzling at best, and then, when you consider we have not shown any progress, but in fact, regressed, it’s extremely concerning. If either of our top two players in Trevor or Trey enter the portal, it will be a major indictment, unfortunately on the current status of our program.
I think they both are happy to be Gators and love their coaches. If they leave it will be solely about money imo. Unfortunately I fear top notch players are going to be moving a lot in coming years as they get professional agents. There is simply going to be too much money involved with deals working all year round. I hope I'm wrong.
Those two leaving would be a huge no confidence vote in Napier and you can expect several more dominoes to fall, including the recruiting class.
Yeah it’s pretty clear. He hast to retain both of those guys or it will send a major message and will cause other other dominoes to fall like you said. Not truly believe kids like Trevor and Tre are major major gamers that have a hard time with losing which is exactly what we want.
