(VB) Ongoing Volleyball Thread

Yep, quite the international team.

Gonna need a lot more fr Martin to pull this out.

 

Started we thought this might be a NC team, but with injuries now maybe the worst team in a long time … maybe next year !!

 

Down 2 sets to 1 on our home court. Gotta dig deep. They have been crisper with their passing and we've given them too many freed balls. They have 14 more attacks and 12 more kills than us and lead in assists 49-38. All of that indicates more efficient passing and better ball movement. As Archie Bell and the Drells would say, it's time for the Gators to TIGHTEN UP!

Just following up on this-

GaT coach is from Brazil and played internationally so recruiting internationally isn't surprising. She is also a USF alum. (Was bored and looked her up)

 

Set 4 to the Gators

 

Gators did the Tighten Up and won set 4 25-18. We hit .478 that set to Tech's .154. Hope they can keep that up into set 5. Very competitive match. Martin is up to .308, AC at .328. That's the kill efficiency we need to win.

 

Hopefully the ladies get a quick start in set 5. More of the set 4 play please.

 

4th set summary: AC Fitz-18 GT-18.

At least, it seemed like it.

 

Man, I get grossed out during every challenge. There's a replay guy who sits there with his mouth open, chewing on his tongue throughout the duration of the challenge.

Yuck.

 

2 attack errors by Martin and a service error from Adams have given Tech 3 of their last 4 points. Tied 13-13, UF timeout, Tech serving.

 

Really sloppy last few points.

 

Can't get a much tighter match. Gators give up the lead. 13-13 in set 5.

A snapshot of our season. Played hard, but came up short once again. Led the entire 5th set and then just made mistake after mistake down the stretch. Oh well. Mary Wise, the staff and returning players need to regroup, refocus, go out and get a couple of studs from the portal and come back strong next season. Man, oh Man!!!
