If Elle has a match like last, we should. Imo she was the best Libero her freshman year, but off this season…but she showed how she could turn a match around with serve and pass. Not a huge fan of Emily back there. Our blocking defense has to be on too-heck, both passing and blocking will have to carry us forward as will it have to be for everyone moving forward. Jmo
Merritt took a transfer visit to Auburn. That talent there must have dissuaded her. (Yes I know it was a courtesy visit)
Gators hit only .132, but held Tech to .089. Victoria really struggled. 2 service errors and hit -.222. Last night she was stellar. When she's off it hurt the Gators. But they pulled that set out.
Gators take set #1 vs. GT: 25-22. McKissic played out of her mind towards the end, especially the final point. Team: 3 service errors, and 4 hitting errors. (Victoria had 2 SE and 3 HE.) Blocking and GT service errors played a big role.
Very tight match. Every point critical. Georgia Tech much more efficient in the 2nd set. Service errors killing them, as they have 9 to our 3.
Yep - Fitzpatrick with an attack error to end the set. Gators hit .225 the second set, but Tech hit .421. 31 digs each, Tech with 31 assists, UF 28, Gators 6 blocks, Tech 4, UF with 14 attack errors, Tech 12. Our Outside hitters have to play better. Martin hitting at .218, Fitzpatrick .158, Victoria .000. Essix and Okammor have been keeping us in it so far, but need to be more efficient.
That's exactly what they're doing. Conversely, when Muff is in the front row, GT is feeding their left front hitter almost exclusively. I thought UF abandoned setting Okammor and Essix in the middle. Seving was solid that set, but serve receive wasn't nearly as good as set #1. Gators let set #2 get away from them.
