Mathematically impossible to prove it wrong. Sit and spin everyone else.

  2. Sure. Just for fun I would love to get this guy’s formula and calculate where the 1984, 1985, 1995, and 2001 Gators would fit in this ranking.

He does mention some older teams and shits on 84 BYU a little. He did 2000 on because the stats were difficult to find.

84 byu was a joke. They beat a 6-5 meatchicken in the freaking holiday bowl for that "mnc". The 84 Gators would have trucked those clowns.

I agree and I think he makes the points I've thought for a long time. That team had the most complete team with legitimately good players at all position units and all of them were in their primes.

2001 Miami is more of a roster than a team. They had exceptional depth but it was often at the same positions (RB, TE, S) and many of the notable players were true freshman who didn't really do much. They also had weaknesses, not only on offense with a lower level QB and only one good WR but particularly at CB. Any team with a lot of offensive weapons (2008 UF, 2019 LSU, 2018-2020 Alabama) would have lit them up.

I agree 100% and still have the SEC championship coke bottle on the mantle. We should most certainly claim '84 and '85 if Bama claims half of theirs and UCF just started saying they won it, why not us?

That Big East schedule and a lame duck Nebraska team didn't hurt either.

I think the 2001 Gators could have beaten the 2001 Canes. Had it not been for 9/11 changing the date of the UT game, we likely get that chance.

Unfortunately I find that hard to assume. We played Miami in 2000, 2002, and 2003 and lost them all. 2001 UF was not physical enough for heavyweight games. It's why we lost to Tennessee, and while we would have had a better chance early in 2001 when they were more injured, if we couldn't beat them at full strength how would we beat Miami?

Normally I would agree about the "trucking" but BYU is an incredibly lucky school so maybe not.

I think we were missing a really good RB for that UT game too.

Yes, Graham was out but a RB is only as good as the blocking in front of him and John Henderson was playing like Jefferson in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. We were outrushed 242 yards to 36 yards. Graham wasn't making up 200 yards.

We were a missed 2 point conversion from getting the game into OT. I think we win if he plays at full strength, which he would've been in Sept. We still might've lost to scUM if we had made it to the Rose Bowl but ya never know. Really pissed me off cuz I was going out there for the holidays and my sis had gotten tickets to the game. I opted not to go to the game since we weren't in it but I did go to the parade.

I guess I forget how close we came to actually winning but by the vibes of it we got crushed.

The ‘08 Gators are definitely the best 1-loss team in college football history

  19. He said the stats were difficult to find for all the teams. He found 1971 Nebraska and 1984 BYU. I bet if we found the stats for the 1996 Gators that they would rank rather high (along with some rivals). From what I can tell, this guy’s formula is all about balance in all phases of the game. The 1996 Gators were good on offense, defense, and special teams.

I got the feeling that he didn't want '08 Florida to be on top. There was just nothing he could do about it. I'm certain he could find the stats for '96 Florida, but, he wasn't touching that.
