I’ve never understood all the Columbus bashing. I’m married to an OSU alum so I understand how difficult their fan base is to deal with but I’ve always enjoyed C-Bus. Although I do live in Dayton so it’s not hard to be an upgrade in that perspective lol.
I have lived in Columbus my whole life. It doesn't bother me if people bash it, I'm just interested to hear the perspective of others who have lived here, or even from those who haven't.
Damn dude, I'm sorry lol. I'm from about 30 minutes north. Small town called West Milton. People definitely tend to overreact to the weather on this board when discussing OSU
The city has grown so much over the last 10 years or so. We would definitely live up there if our jobs were in the area. Dublin is awesome and Franklinton is a cool area.
I live in Dublin and work in Plain City. There's no shortage of things to do here in Columbus. And a ton of good jobs and great places to live. As far as OSU goes, there's a lot to like if you're a college kid, especially if you don't mind the weather. And even that's not too bad. January thru March sucks because it's cloudy and unpredictable, but that's Ohio for you.
Yeah I went to high school in Fairborn so I’m somewhat familiar with that area. Is West Milton out near Clayton, Union, Vandalia area? We are south of the city now in the Centerville/Kettering area.
Yeah, it's the next town north of Union on 48. 2, maybe 3 stoplights in the whole town. My BIL used to teach math at Centerville. Pretty sure he's something high up now.
Great memory! You are correct. I used to own a house in Hilliard (that now belongs to my ex-wife) but I've had an apartment right beside Tuttle for a few years now. My lease is up in April, so my fiancé and I are gearing up for house shopping. Bad time to buy a house with this crazy market, but that's the new reality in Columbus. At this rate, I think it will take several decades for the supply to catch up with the demand.
I know Yeah I used to talk to unclenunzio from time to time when he was still in the Columbus area. Last I heard he was retiring and moving back down to FL. I don’t mind it up here especially during Hoodie and shorts season. There are definitely places I would probably prefer to live but don’t mind the area.
That’s right I remember talking about being out in Hilliard previously. Are you looking to stay in the Plain City/ Dublin area? There are a ton of new houses going up out in Plain City to. My wife really wants to move back to the Clintonville/UA area but there is no way that can happen especially with the interest rates right now.
We're looking at Hilliard, Dublin, Plain City, West Jefferson, Marysville, Ostrander, Delaware, Powell, Worthington, Lewis Center, Westerville, Galena. So pretty much all over the suburbs except for the south and east side. Yeah I know what you mean. Housing is crazy expensive, interest rates are up, and the market is still extremely competitive which sucks for me. On the other hand, I work in the building industry, so I guess I can't complain too much about all the growth here.
