DL coaching search...Florida Planning to Hire Tulane's Gerald Chatman

How do you know this ? genuinely curious.

 

Actually Elijah Robinson's position is interim head coach. His old post was Co-defensive Coordinator, before that run game coordinator. So technically there is a position available. Nothing would surprise me with A&M. Robinson could be promoted to Assistant Head Coach and they could bring another DC. Partridge would be an upgrade for a lot of SEC or Big 10 Schools. I'm just not sure why he would choose UF with the situation here. Like I said, I hope he does.

Totally agree. I said when he was hired that he would be given 4-5 years to get the program back to prominence. As this year has gone by I've gotten somewhat pessimistic about whether he can get the job done, but I still think he'll be given that 4-5 year time frame. And I want him very much to succeed because the Gator football program needs stability. Gator fans, myself included, are not known for patience and want an immediate turnaround (As George Castanza's father said, "Serenity NOW!), but if those who control the purse strings are willing to give him that many years, that's what he's going to get.

I cannot attest to the validity of this statement, but I read somewhere that last year was Year 0 and this is Year 1.

 

We certainly are spending a lot across the board with personnel, facilities, and now NIL. But it appears the cost to be a top program (playoff level) is going to keep escalating and it remains to be seen if the administration and boosters will want to go there.

 

And the reason you probably know that he knows everything is because he informed you that he does.

 

Been reported several times that he’s wanted to be here on more than one occasion.
