Have you guys looked at our schedule for next year? This has to be the toughest schedule UF has ever played. No Vandy, no Mizzou and no South Carolina. Instead, we get Texas A&M (again), Texas, Miami, fsu, LSU, Tennessee and both Mississippi schools (away). The only cupcake we play is Samford. 2024 Florida Football Schedule | FBSchedules.com
That schedule is absurd. One guaranteed win. One. I bet Georgia and Alabama play four cupcakes plus the bottom feeders in the SEC. Stricklin has killed us.
Well, the good news is if we do only beat Samford, we'll be unquestionably the best 1-11 team out there!
I try to look at it in a positive light. Every game will be exciting and every win we get will feel like we won the Super Bowl.
Way too soon to tell, not only regarding our team but what the other teams will have by that time as well. That said, how many of those games will we be favored in? (aside from Samford). and what are the odds that our tougher opponents either get an open date or a cupcake before facing us?
Probably the last time we give away a non-conference game to a top tier school...no matter how much money ESPN tosses to the athletic department, the answer should be no. Bring on the Citadel!
I saw the schedule about a month ago and about shit a brick. The good news is that we really aren't very far from being a good team; just a little better play on O or D would have gotten us 3-4 more wins this year. A few decent portal gets and quality assist. coaching replacements and we can cause some noise.
I’ve always thought one “cupcake” at front of schedule to iron the wrinkles out and one towards the end to reward some 2nd and 3rd string guys that have practiced hard all year some playing time and rest a few players with bumps and bruises. Next years schedule is brutal.
Settle down everyone we return a very veteran QB while 8 of them will be starting a new QB. This is what some have clamored for especially Wanna. Let everything unfold all will be well in the end
Yes I’m optimistic!!!! Go ahead and hit that button!!! 9-3 (losses Georgia, Texas and FSU) 7-0 at home, 2-2 on the road and 0-1 neutral. Huge improvements from year 2 to 3. 7 games at home, 6 or 7 have new QB’s and we have a very good veteran QB coming back and lots of experience on defense. No way we are as bad on D as we were last year. We have 3 or 4 more wins with this years schedule with an average D. Go Gators!!!
Yeah, that’s a best practice that dates back about a century … right up there with having a special teams coach.
Miami, Kentucky, UCF, and LSU have become must-win home games. Lose any of them and Gator Nation will have little to zero love for Billy Napier. Sanford a given of course.
Georgia has 3 easy games, one of which is GaTech Bama has 3 easy games, one of which is South Florida Despite this, our schedule is more daunting.
This is what people wanted. More exciting regular season match ups. Super conferences. Unless you’re an elite football team, a schedule like this just means more injuries and a couple extra losses.
