Lol... I've heard this on several sites already, just wondering which one you found. It's too bad he's leaving, because he can catch darn near everything thrown to him in his zip code... Sucks, but... on the other hand maybe we're got a "super secret" silent commitment from someone. Lol...
I think he’s from Texas. May be he wants closer to home. Whatever the reason hate to see him go. Good luck, Caleb
Good grief. CD is decent.. not great. He is leaving because he sees the writing on the wall. There are faster better players coming in. As for BG leaving.. why even put that out there? Just pure negative speculation. No reason or evidence that is happening.
Agree that he was only decent, but he improved over his freshman campaign (he actually could get open AND catch as a Sophomore). Additionally, he was a starter when he was injured. Unless he is scared of the guys that still couldn't get on the field in 2023 or the birds in the bush we have on our recruiting boards, why would he leave? It can't be for reasons that have to do with getting on the field.
Not that you are incorrect, but does this not contradict the notion that Napier knows how to evaluate HS players? One-and-done may be an outlier but still, if he was "quality" and now he is less-than-ideal, is it the player or is it the way he was told his plans and what WAS his plan this year? If I had to make a "fully appropriate" explanation, it would be that Napier and Mertz came to the conclusion that dink passing (and high success rate) was preferable to real play action and take shots down field. I am not sure we ever got running the ball so well that a true play action (not a bootleg pass to a TE or RB) was in play. I guess there was some of that against USCe but still, it all seemed run the ball with limited success followed by conventional passing (usually obvious passing downs). That to me was why Brown needed more work: to help the running game and to suck the defense in and to make them susceptible to the "gotcha" bomb to a Douglas type player. Now it is all water over the dam.
