    It is patently simple:

Walk-ons. It is all about sending a signal.

Shorthanded... with many very young players... playing out of position... and a QB that can barely escape that young and inexperienced line?

I might have to reevaluate what happened on the offensive line.

What positions had no backups? After listing these positions, if able, identify who is at fault for that situation.

Guys either like to tackle or they don’t. Sure you can teach techniques and all that but you can’t make a guy love contact. Some have it and some don’t. We don’t have many that just can’t wait to hit somebody.

The only thing that would signal is that the coach is a moron.

So, you believe in enabling the players? I think that is what Mullen, Jimbo (post-NC) and Taggert were all about. Tough love is tough love.

Um, why do you think the walk-ons are on the team? Just to be tackling dummies? Really???

Agreed.....Once again treating this sport as an educational tool for student athletes in the new era is about as dumb as a box or rocks. Its a business, be successful or be gone. If the team needs a player to burn his redshirt to help it win then so be it. If the player doesn't want to do it he can go sit in the stands in street clothes and hit the transfer portal at his next opportunity.

Where oh where has the Todd Johnson gene gone. I have no idea how these guys think their are going to league (other than little) when they can't or won't tackle.

My dream pick to replace Raymond would be Marquand Manuel.

Would have to wait 7-8 weeks for that hire and that's too long. Need to have someone in place sooner.

He is coaching in the NFL for the Jets.

Need depth for that and our depth got thinner as the season went on.

I don't see why he could not leave when they are eliminated from the playoffs.

If I was a head coach or DC, I would not have any players that avoid tackling, simple as that. We don’t need 11 Deion Sanders on the field ever. Don’t you think we just don’t have the proper angles or positions or whatever is involved in tackling? I honestly don’t know but would think defensive players at SEC level don’t generally shy away from tackling. Like I say too often with this team, the bench is the best motivator. If we are lean or young, so be it. The cream usually rises to the top.

I don't know if it is rose color glasses, but to me Todd Johnson was one of the best safetys to ever play for the gators. No one ever got past him.
