Max Brown, Kamari Wilson, Will Norman reported to be headed to the transfer portal

I don’t remember seeing any posts talking about every 5 star QB recruit being the next Tim Tebow. Lagway is a generational player and a born leader. Total package. He has a draw where other elite players want to build something special and play with him. Maybe you don’t follow recruiting or remember why Spikes and Harvin came to UF and why Hayes, Filsaime, McCray, Abrams, Williams x’ 2, Westphal and others are sticking to their commitments to rebuild this with Lagway.

 

So were so many others. And leaders are made, not born.

Chris Leak drew as many players to Florida as Tim, and while I love Chris, he wasn't a generational player. He was a great QB who led us to a national title.

See above. I could also say the same of Brock Berlin, the top rated QB and crown jewel of our top ranked 2000 class. Don't anoint anyone a legend before they earn it.

Not true. Natural born leader is not just a saying.

Leak and Berlin had no moxy/swag on or off the field. They looked pretty and put up big numbers in High School. Leak had a nice college career capped with a Natty, but never was a leader or ever earned leadership. Being a leader was not his natural character trait. That’s why some 5 Star guys never make it. People didn’t want to follow Leak. Lagway has a tribe coming to UF with him.

I think I’m right on this one. Lagway is a different breed. Natural born leader who has the respect of all the recruits in this class.

Hope I’m right and you’re wrong. I’m sure you do as well. It’s my eternal optimism.

Why are you bashing on Leak? He won a Natty for the Gators, remember?

 

“Leak had a nice college career capped with a Natty” doesn’t sound like bashing. Leak would not have won a natty if it not been for Tim Tebow. I was at the games when they would cheer for Tim Tebow alternating with Leak. Fans never cheered when Leak went back into the game. Like I said, Chris Leak had a nice college career with a natty, but you can’t argue that he was the leader of that team. That’s not bashing.

 

we need 2 more QBs...having 2 on scholly is disastrous.

I love DJ, but he will not be SEC ready in year one. We need another QB who can play if Mertz gets hurt. The only reason Timmy T was useful as a frosh was that he could run everybody over. DJ is not that QB.

 

Great so right when were about to get older we get younger so we can use the we only had freshman on our roster...give em time.

 

Would you prefer to take in no transfers and only a dozen or so high school kids? Or a half dozen transfers and a half dozen high school kids?

 

If these kids don't play much for the Gators why would we want them to stay on our team.. especially if some lesser team will play them right now. These kids are young and maybe they get better, but it looks like they want to play now.. so let them find a place to play... I say, good luck to them.

Will Norman should stay, IMHO. He will see the field in Gainesville if he does... me thinks.

At this late in the season he's either looking for bigger pay, or someone program promised him bigger NIL pay. Either way... it stinks of tampering.

 

I’m surprised about Norman.

His career might benefit from a new coach.

Or, perhaps he liked Spencer and is upset he got fired?

 

I thought Norman was supposed to be a stud. True freshman and already bailing. Geez.

 

Max had some good moments Saturday. The throw to the TE on the right sideline early was as good as you can throw it. Hopefully he’ll get a good offer.

 

That throw was next level. I’d love to see what he can do behind a great OLine.
