Russia's stated reason for the war (Nazis in Ukraine, threatening humanity) was idiotic and clearly false. No one is saying that Russia is not allowed to have reasons for doing something, but the reason cannot be idiotic or false. The true reason clearly seems to be a need for conquest and expanding their empire through violent means. You know, like Hitler did. I am not saying that Russians are inherently bad, just that their actions in invading other countries without a valid reason is bad. I say that because smart, to use language and syntax that a propaganda peddler's simple mind might understand.

Russia loses another general. This one (a major general) to a landmine near the front lines. No word on whether it was a Russian or Ukrainian land mine. Russia is running low on generals.

The barriers protecting the Kerch bridge from Ukrainian sea drone attack have been washed away by the storm.

Crippling Black Sea storm reportedly destroys Kerch bridge barriers

Apparently, the Black Sea "hurricane" at some point turned into a blizzard.

At least 10 dead, dozens injured in Ukraine after blizzard cripples Black Sea region

An interesting article documenting the failures of the Russian air force. Russia has done a poor job of developing ground assault aircraft to destroy Ukraine's air defenses and support the ground troops. While Russia has only lost about 10% of its air force jets, their air force has not been a factor in the war. Russia's air force is designed to defend the motherland by shooting down attacking enemy jets, not attack enemy ground positions.

Russia's huge Air Force is still mostly intact, but it hasn't been building the jets it needs to win on the ground in Ukraine

Cute montage, but pointless. And no, with your capacity for independent thought, you probably shouldn't presume anything. Nice propaganda, though.

The key to defeating Russia is to let Russia defeat itself. Let Russian leaders feed their own delusions of greatness, watch them attack a neighbor or two as their economy falters, get them to go all-in on an invasion, and provide assistance to the other side where you can. The ineptly-managed Russian economy eventually implodes, the soldiers eventually realize where they are fighting and why, and voila, Russia is defeated. It happened in the late-1980's, and it is happening now. Putin will be known in Russia (if not internationally) as a generational idiot for starting this war (and not learning the lessons of a generation ago).

I just hope we're smarter when it comes to re-building Russia than we were the first time around. A veneer of democracy and international cooperation is not good enough. The defense industries of Russia should be completely torn down before we provide any assistance to Russia's reconstruction. Russia should not be allowed to make anything more dangerous than decorative wind spinners.

NATO and the US would be foolish beyond comprehension not to feed the Ukranian war machine with unlimited resources.
NATO blood is not being spilled and Ukraine has every motivation to let Russia impale itself and its overrated military resources on a Ukranian spike.

Let's be real, NATO and the Wests foreign policy initiatives in the region were designed precisely for what is happening now. The development of a buffer state
between Western Europe and post Soviet aggression from Russia.

Putin miscalculated. Ukrainian passions for its own autonomy in conjunction with Zelenski being far more astute than the Russians could have ever realized has led to this massive post WW2 quagmire Russia finds itself in.

Sure, Ukraine was corrupt as hell, but past animosity toward the collectivization of land, (20s and 30s) commisar state sponsored terrorism under the maniac Stalin and the murder (22 in the back of the head during Soviet interrogation and political "reindoctrination") of what some estimate up to 4 million Ukranians during this period was never forgotten or forgiven.

I find Ukraines stand against such arrogant totalitarianism as a wonderful statement as to how an independent country can rally against such incredible odds.

One should read Sean Penns remarkable experience in Ukraine and the solidarity of purpose he found among the Ukranian people
to kick the Russian bear in the nuts.

It is bizarre that so many Americans are opposed to contributing resources towards defeating Russia. Is our education system really that bad?
Putin was an intelligence operative with little intelligence. He certainly doesn't know anything about economics, the military, international relations, or human psychology and motivation.
We can certainly deal with the corruption in Ukraine after the war. That's a minor issue compared to the foreign army in their back yard, and much easier to solve. We will be spending billions to re-build Ukraine after they win, so we will have all the leverage we need to get rid of (or at least minimize) the corruption.
Kind of reminds one of a group of revolutionaries fighting for their independence against a vastly superior Great Britain, and winning.
The Russian bear never needed a kick in the nuts as badly as it does right now.

The Russian major general says no. Or he said no just before he died.

(Actually, he might have stepped on the land mine before the blizzard. It usually takes a couple days for news like this to get out. But it makes for a cute visual.)

If you are referring to Hitler, clearly he did not endorse the idea of letting Russia defeat itself. Hitler sent his army into Russia to try to take Moscow. Big mistake. Much better to fight Russia on neutral ground. Better yet to have a motivated fighting force defend their homeland against Russian invasion while you supply it with weapons and ammo. Worked in the 1980's, and is working now.

You seem to be having trouble comprehending what you read.

Ukraine's commandos are at it again. They stormed a Russian oil rig and captured a Russian long-range radar, and now they can monitor Russian ships across the Black Sea.

Ukraine captured a radar during a daring oil platform assault that it's now using to track Russian warships, commandos say
