I get the disgusted part but why embarrassed? The actions of one person do not represent me as an individual. JL should be the one who is embarrassed.
I’m an alum and a big fan. The team represents the University and, indirectly, me and other alums and fans.
I guess we need to take the whole coaching staff and the criminal spitter, out against a wall at BHG and shoot them. We can’t have anyone embarrassing you.
Funny! Point is that it shouldn’t be too much to ask for a coach to instill discipline in his team, especially one preaching about the importance of program culture. Are you confident that it gets better going forward?
I will say this: I was somewhat consoled that when Lyons got to the sideline after being ejected he was confronted by 3 different coaches, including CBN, who were obviously voicing their displeasure at his actions. When Wilson threw the shoe it was handled by the coaches as business as usual. In fact, I’m pretty sure Mullens said he didn’t see it. That’s remotely possible but, even if he didn’t see it he should have been able to grasp the severity of the situation and sat Wilson down for the remainder of the game. He didn’t. I feel like Lyons would have sat after the incident even if he wouldn’t have been ejected.
This thread is nonsense. I can name at least 6 more embarrassing moments. Choke at Doak - UF had too good a team to squander a 28 pt lead. Losing to Georgia Southern in 2013, 26-20. Dan Mullen halftime brawl vs Missouri. Ron Zook frat house incident. Dan Mullen as Darth Vader. Jim McElwain "death threats". Oh, and Jim McElwain on that shark.
After following the Gators for 6 decades, the only thing I can tell you is …… don’t live and die by Gator football game outcomes. Just be grateful you have the opportunity to support the team win or lose. Go Gators.
Agree..been following the Gators since I was a kid..from Ray Graves to current..been a season ticket holder and booster since 1985....love my team..have been frustrated, disappointed and sometimes embarrassed over all these years..however learned that whatever happens on the field of play..I have no control over..and hope that the following year will be better..I believe in the "in all kinds of weather we all stick together " Go Gators!
FTR, a lack of discipline and team focus has been a burgeoning problem at UF for at least the last 3+ seasons. Lyons acted like an out-of-control child in a moment of anger and deep frustration and ended up breaking the momentum that had been building for UF since the opening drive. His actions were selfish and unacceptable and were an embarrassment to the team and to himself. I expect that his conduct will be addressed further, at the appropriate time and in the appropriate manner. But, IMHO, your comments are also an example of an unfortunate overreaction in a difficult moment. If you truly think that you're the only one that was bothered by that behavior or the impact it and several other blunders had on the game's outcome, or that everyone here is pleased with the current direction of the program, you are very much mistaken. The view from a high horse, while in a fit of pique, may not always be as fully unobstructed as some think.
So am I. I'm disgusted but not embarrassed I have zero control what the team does or individuals on the team do..

Please tell me you don't actually think that was targeting. Run full speed at someone and then stop suddenly because they slide. Physics.
I was embarrassed and disgusted as well. I don’t think it’s gotten worse, I just don’t see that it has gotten any better unfortunately and this was one of the big selling points for BN. The question is, with the alarming erosion of culture in today’s society coupled with the influx of NIL money, which surely creates a sense of entitlement, can you create the kind of culture we would all like to see while competing with Alabama and Georgia?
