What part of the article makes you think it was a hate crime?

 

He said it looks like a hate crime. Probably because they are Palestinian and there is a lot of Islamophobia (and anti-semitism) in the US at the moment. The last sentence of the article said they have not yet, however, determined if it is a hate crime.

 

I’m aware that he said that. It’s why I asked him the question. Maybe there was another article that he read that gave the impression that it looks like a hate crime.

 

Good point. In gun crazed U.S. people get shot for pulling into the wrong driveway or ringing the wrong doorbell.

 

Sounds like a likely hate crime given their race and that the guy attacked them on their own property, but you can’t be 100% until they catch the shooter.

Sounds justifiable. Same thing if someone brushes against you in a crowded elevator, although you need to be careful about ricochets.

It only says the police didn’t immediately provide evidence of motive. Doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t have any.

I’m guessing he skipped over the “Thou shalt not kill” part
