Didn't almost our entire class this year enroll early? I recall one of the only exceptions was our best player of them all, EW3. Expectations that the incoming freshman are just straight up better from the jump, seems questionable.
The staff doesn’t cut any of those deals and you don’t have to give your big check to them. You can work directly with the players if you have the weight.
I’ve heard differently. Some bull gators are not happy. I wouldn’t bet the house on 2 more years. Edit: my bad. I read your message wrong. Yes, 2024 is his. I heard 2025 is up in the air supposedly.
I’m convinced the “process “ includes running over and through teams like bama and ga “do”. Get the horses and impose your will. Your talent overwhelms the opponent. Run on first and second. Throw on third if you have more than 4 yds. If less, run again. Play sound D. The problem we have is - none of that crap works until you have the top two rosters in college sports! Jeezz!! Stop it already and play as if we DON’T have that roster. My word…. Throw the ball with your back up! I bet they thought we’d run…
So, you have decided that youth isn't true in your eyes, based on this the From just spot checking a couple in fsu Spot checked fsu roster. They do not include the covid year. We are young. Edit. There really needs to be a discard post button in this site. I thought I had cleaned up my edit and ended up with 3 responses.
That’s exactly how he won in the Sun Belt. He is in a far different situation now but trying to coach exactly the same.
I am as low as most but, I will counter with this….. We always see the schedule and say… 7-8-9-10 wins. We won 5. Things didn’t go as planned. It CAN work both ways… Maybe we win a few? Maybe a lot of roster turnover (for all teams) helps scramble what we think we know. Maybe some staff and rosters have an epiphany? It’s part of what keeps me coming back.
adapt your scheme to fit the talent you currently have as oppose to doing what they’re incapable of doing. also, even Saban and Kirby realized that “lining up and punching teams in the mouth” leaves very little margin for error. Which is what our offense faces. If we fall behind 2 TD’s, there’s no hope in coming back. We don’t put pressure on the defenses we face. GOTTTTTA fix that next season
Interesting! I just dont see SS getting a third bite of the apple if HBN is a washout...2025 will be a tellinh year as BN is with us at the start of 2025 season.
oh god. The “improvement may not show in the win column” nonsense that was being pushed before the season. Look, it’ll be Year 3. The dude needs to win games. Period. This is competitive sports, not intramural competition.
Seems reasonable. They better get him some tables and linebackers to work with or they should look in the mirror when they do the firing.
With the schedule we have next year, if you were in charge of the decision, how many games does he need to win to keep his job. I’d want to see how tough that schedule really is. We could play five top 10 teams next year or maybe it’s only one. I’d think the number of wins would be greatly affected by the other teams. He could be 7-5 and that be an achievement or 8-4 and look worse than this year.
I never count on freshmen to help, that’s usually 2-3 years down the road. Wilson was good and will probably be better down the road. Some of our young guys gained experience and will make a jump next year. I’m thinking our secondary while still very young will show some promise and some growing pains still. The portal has to treat us well though. I don’t think it’s possible to improve much without 5-6 key portal guys. Better coaching decisions and the players we have now improving could win Kentucky, Arky, FSU without their qb, 8-4 maybe if everything fell our way. Still not much chance of beating legit top 10 teams.. Our oline and front seven are below average and you can’t win consistently in the sec like that. Recruiting class won’t help immediately either. We have elite linebackers and rusher coming but if they start as freshmen, it’ll be rough next year. I’m not sure if we have any tackles developing that can start next year but from what I’ve seen, we don’t have an sec tackle on our roster.. it usually takes hs lineman 2-3 years to be sec ready. There’s no time left for developing hs kids.
My thoughts from the beginning were year 2 offseason will gives us a good indication of how we are "rebuilding". Until we see how the process, coaching staff, recruiting has been upgraded (if at all), we will have a better idea of future success. It's been a tough year for all of us. Chump, Mac and then Mullen all failed at the rebuild. IMO, i don't think the necessary changes are all that complicated. The question in my mind is will CBN do what's necessary. I'm going to hold off on freaking out until around spring practice to see what the whole team and staff looks like at that time.
When your line can block, you have options . When they can’t, nothing works. When we had Trask, our line was definitely not great. They did however work well as a unit to pass block for Trask to get rid of it quickly. They couldn’t hold very long but they were a cohesive unit. These guys really don’t have a go to blocking advantage in any scheme.
IMO, he has used up all of his political capital this year. I postulated that he probably has been given through 2024 and maybe even 2025 to get it right. His choice. I am afraid his "rubber chicken circuit" is going to be, um, fun.
