And none of them at all have been the issues? You can argue the O line but what else are you gonna do when you are forced to play guards at the tackle position because you have no tackles? All he can do is recruit there and that takes time. Who of Napiers guys (besides the couple o lineman that are underwhelming) have been issues?

 

His recruits will have one and two years experience next year. His first class was thrown together and small so the won’t be many with two years experience. It’ll still be a young team in need of some elite portal help if we want to get around the 8 win mark next year. You can hire all the ox’s and coaches you want, but you aren’t winning the major of your games with guards playing tackle and a defense that just aren’t built to tackle. Dion was an exceptional corner but if you have five Dion’s in the secondary, you are getting exposed. We need some physical on defense in the worst way.

Anybody else worry about guys like ETN or Wilson getting poached in this day and age? I don’t know what loyalty looks like in NIL/pay for play these days. I mean really how did Bama get Jamyr Gibbs from GT. It wasn’t just coincidental.

Either way, we have zero bonafide All SEC players this season, so I don't think anyone has been great - regardless of who recruited them. We're a 5-win team without a star, in a league ruled by future NFL players. We have a very long way to go, as of today. Player development and the portal will be key to next season. If we fail at both, we're toast....and so is BN.

 

If you want starters from the portal, that's going to take NIL money. The administration has already stated we're not going to try to gain first-movers advantage with the NIL, we'll wait to see how it plays out. If you want that to change, contact them.

 

Well, 2 have already entered the portal - Odom and Mihalek. Minor players but does affect depth, especially at kicker if Smack ever gets hurt.
