Incorrect, Brohm lead Purdue to the Big 10 champ game last year, and now has Louisville in the ACC title game this year. Of course, I'm sure both those powerhouses don't have any of the myriad of problems preventing BN from being successful.

Come on man, really. I know we hate them but that is just silly. Saban literally has created the school of wayward coaches.

Jeff Brohm is a hot commodity in spite of Saturday's loss.

He won the game, you play .. to win .. the game. That's it, that is all that matters.

He is not in his second season, your post was incorrect. Your point has nothing to do with the ignorance of the statement.

I agree , but wasn't the case around here after the Charlotte game? It syarts off about "just about winning" until you do then it's "how you win" it is what it is.

the gators under Spurrier and Meyer pretty much led the SEC in penalties nearly every year and were always near the top nationally in most penalties, especially personal fouls. The 15 yard variety.

it is revisionist history to say Meyer and Spurrier teams were well disciplined. They had some of the most penalized teams in UF history on an annual basis and won despite it, not because of discipline.

for example, the Florida 2006 national champs ranked 118th in penalties nationally (the lower the number the better). The 2008 champs 107th. Meyer was the furthest thing from disciplinarian.

Indeed, we fans are a fickle bunch. I recall "disappointment" with SOS when going 10-2.

I recall disappointment in the offense and narrow point spreads in 06.

I recall the same in 09.

Winning is often not enough, fan bases turn winning into a beauty contest.

Right now I would have been ecstatic at going 6 - 6.

I think about this all the time, you are spot on with how I was during those seasons.

They simply have an overwhelming pool of talent. Nothing more, nothing less. Sure they can run a program but that’s not what seperates them. If you think they can take vandys budget and do it, believe what you want

First you win the games, then you crush your opponents, then you hear the lamentations of the women.

Please remind me of the players on those teams who spit or the late hit on 3rd and 14? There are penalties of aggression to gain an edge (holding, early start, etc). Then there are the ludicrous no purpose variety. Honestly, I simply don’t rember those with sos and Meyer. Do you? I’m pretty sure if a player spit in a game sos or Meyer would be in his face, not putting his arm around him.

Unfortunately, most college football players respond more to fear than praise. Hence why hardasses like Meyer, Bryant and Saban were successful and nice guys like Mullen, Mac and Napier were not. Stadium steps til you puke is a great motivator to not f up. Of course in today's pussified world it's difficult to get away with such tactics.

No doubt. Both would struggle at UF with our admin and recruiting tactics. Conversely, DM would kick ass at both schools.
