Tre Wilson Swats at coach

I like his intensity, but that was also an immature act there. That coach was trying to calm him and protect him from taking an unnecessary penalty. IMO, this was a microcosm of the overall in game discipline issues with the team.

I’ve been told on here the coaches are not responsible for undisciplined actions like this.

 

What penalty??? He clearly was not yelling at the refs. Looked more like he was yelling at a teammate. Guessing someone who missed an assignment.

 

I thought he was yelling at refs and FSU player. I thought the refs would call a penalty on the FSU player for taunting or keeping W3 down at first

 

That happened right after the play where T.W got tackled by the nole defender that through him down hard and was laying on him after the whistle blew. Trey was fighting with him to get off of him. He should'nt have swung at our coach but was glad he was showing fire.... Was hoping our guys would rally....

If I’m not mistaken, that was the play where he got drilled and the defender got in his face on the ground and then stood over him. I’d say it’s more likely he was chirping at that defender, hence the coach trying to pull him away from the situation. You can certainly get an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for that. Here comes the true test next year for Billy and his staff, that’s a very coachable moment. Not just about correctly executing your blocking assignment, but your mental awareness to just let things go and line up for the next play.

Could have been that play but he clearly did not say anything to get the refs attention. There were three of them right there and none of them broke stride or gave him a glance. There was never a danger of a unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. If you are going to make an interpretation from something you see and can't hear then look at the entire scene before posting your interpretation.
He might have been yelling at the 'Nole or he could just as easily have been yelling at a team mate that missed a block. Based on the lack of reaction from the refs, I am guessing the latter.

Nah. Did you see the play in question? Lack of reaction from the refs has zero to do with anything in this sequence. They knew what they did/failed to do. Should have been a flag, either the body slam or the taunting.
