Jaquez as a coach is a joke, I watched his HS team this season with left tackle play like I saw last night against FSU and he did nothing about it almost the entire season. His play calling is on the scale of Napier's as well.

The only reason Hanson got on the field was because Odom got a concussion in Game 4. Odom was the primary TE when the season started, coming off a torn ACL in the Las Vegas Bowl last year, with Boardingham as the #2 guy (often both playing together) and was playing very well, primarily as a blocker. He did have 9 catches in those 4 games before getting hurt and graded out high as a blocker every game. After they put him in the concussion protocol, he never saw PT again. He does have his degree, but has 2 years of eligibility left. None of our TE's have the star quality talent that D1 programs need these days, but Odom was the best of our group until his concussion.
Seeing him transfer may be an overreaction, but when a legacy player leaves the program it does make me wonder. I'm just getting more and more pessimistic about the direction of Florida football

Speaking of mind altering substances, anybody got some oxy? This seasons pain level demands I try some.

Yeah, Coach should have been sure to remind his players “now remember boys, no spitting” right before they ran that play. It’s on Napier for sure

Some of the shit people post here is too stupid to even be funny.

Isn't that a person who takes Oxycodone and gets hooked on it? No, they can explain themselves just fine.

That's not true, especially with teams consisting of 18-22 year old kids. Shit teams in football at any level. Show me a team that Saban, smart, Urban, SOS, bill belichick, Landry, etc coached that didn't commit stupid mistakes resulting in penalties? Shit our 2 Best coaches In UF history coached some of the most penalized teams in the country. Now there should be accountability and I believe CBN will do that but I'm not sure he has the bodies to sit too many players. I remember he made Mizzccua sit the entire game for that scuffle he got in when he was only required to sit 1 half. But yeah, how do you coach some one not to spit? It's not like that's not already common sense, and the player knows not to do it but a dumb lapsenin judgement and poof. What can a coach do at that moment and time other than punishment player? It doesn't take back the penalty, it already happened. Same with hitting the QB as he slides. They already know they can't do it but in the moment of that action they had a a lapse of judgment, it's not like the coaches left the players clueless and had 5hem thinking that's OK. and it's not a reoccurring issue happening weekly. Our normal issue, the procedural penalties, were actually down this game but our dumb ass penalties were up this game. I just want some consistency lol

Did Will Muschamp specifically tell his offensive linemen not to block each other? Did Dan Mullen specifically tell his players not to throw shoes? No. But a head coach’s #1 job is instilling culture, discipline, and accountability, and when this type of stupid stuff happens as you lose winnable games it is a reflection of a larger mess.

odom was not a highly rated blocker. His overall grade for this season…

TE Jonathan Odom: 48.1 (107 snaps)

that is actually quite bad. He was not the best option early on - he was the only option with any playing experience that was healthy enough to play.

odom gave good effort but was slow before his ACL surgery and noticeably struggled to run post surgery and was even slower than prior to injury.

he graded out poorly as a blocker more so than a receiver, which is why his PFF grade is so low. The only player on offense with a lower total grade than Odom - TE Zanders, who also got passed over.

With Hansen and Boardingham returning next year, along with Keon Zipperer and the freshman TE coming in, Odom probably figured if he wanted to keep playing he needs to go elsewhere as he won’t be in the top 3 options next year.

Post season grumblings: Optional reading- long and rambling.

I've waited to share this until now, out of respect, now that the season is over.

The scene last night in the Swamp was epic. There is no better venue; anywhere. Period.

The results unfortunately sucked; again. One poster said we're gonna lose the fanbase if this continues... I completely and totally disagree. Let's not forget, the current student base knows of the historical greatness, but only experiences the current reality. They were having fun! Upgrades are coming to the Swamp, there is money pouring in, alums want to be a part of their school. There are tons of recent upgrades. Just being in that Swamp environment is practically life-changing.

I've defended Napier all year. I'm willing to admit a few blind spots in my my unwavering support-and now my criticism's:
    • If we don't get some big-ass bodies on both lines (in the portal) we'll eventually be doomed. We need IMMEDIATE HELP!
    • If Napier doesn't make some necessary changes, admit defeat, have a paradigm shift and get the best OC out there-he'll eventually be doomed.
    • If these adjustments aren't made post-haste I don't think he'll be around after next year.
    • If he doesn't true up the troops and get some discipline going, he'll be doomed. I don't give a crap how bonded they are. You are selling out on each other if you accept mediocrity and make excuses for bad behavior. Some of it is intentional, some is just poor decision making.
The biggest problem with coaches is they want their guys. Even if they suck, they brought them with them, they're pals, etc. Another thing is Napier never seems to possess any urgency. If he does, he doesn't show it.

I love our players. But what discipline are they getting? What lessons are they being taught? What changes are they making?

Some of the players behavior last night was like the shoe-tosser LSU idiocy squared. Even that kid was recently asked about it and said he wouldn't change anything. That to me exhibits selfishness, lack of growth, zero humility and someone void of accountability and personal awareness.

Napier needs to develop the players growth within a much shorter timeline. It's great that they become good parents, get good jobs, become good people. But what about immediate results on the field? They are getting paid. They are all-semi pro now. The coach should demand results. We should demand results or the kids can go somewhere else where the grass is greener and either get a reality check, coached up or never play again!

I still believe Napier IS the guy. But not without adjusting his game plan and initiating the associated paradigm shifts.

I still believe we are very close. You don't come this close to beating two top ten programs because you suck.

I believe we need to beat Miami next year or we'll tumble from there. We don't have the luxury to have another valuable learning experience and build our way up. Get the offensive linemen in. Pay the portal $. Do whatever it takes. And continue to recruit the HS guys that will forever change the program.

We have good kids. They need to be taught. They need to embrace accountability. They need to change their attitudes and not laugh on the sidelines when they've just basically thrown the game away...

If coach doesn't change, how can the players? He always has an answer. He might need to admit he needs to 'find' the answers/solutions.

I appreciate the efforts of all involved. More work is needed. All teams are good now, and we're still on the outside looking in.

DJ, please come save us along with your comrades.

    It's great to-be a Florida Gator

    Go Gators.

I disagree on losing the fan base… I officially jumped off the Billy train with that idiotic trick Play that completely killed Our momentum, gave them the ball back, they scored and you know the rest from there!
Did you happen to notice all the chopping, yes I said chopping not chomping, that was going on from people sitting in the student section?? So even the students have given up and are selling their tickets to our most hated rival!!
I have been attending games almost my entire life, and these last three years have been the most painful we’ve ever endured. As a lot of us have stated, it’s not losing, it’s the way we’re losing. Idiotic mistakes that cost us ballgames that we should have won.
That is totally unacceptable at the university of Florida.
This is not a place one comes to learn how to be a SEC head coach, you should know what you’re doing when you get here!
but unfortunately, we seem to have a knack for hiring the kind of coaches that are just in over their heads.

He doesn't have to be a coach to see that everything he said was accurate.

I'm not a coach and I see those things too as do many others observing.
