He's making seven million dollars a year. How can he get dejected? And if and when he gets fired, he'll collect a king's ransom as buyout. Boy, I'd like that kind of dejection.

UF had nothing to lose and everything to gain last night. He should have called the game that way.

Here’s my problem right now. We have no discipline. We lack fundamentals. And the level of shoulder shrugging lip service word sandwich we get along with the ‘whatcha talkin about’ responses, I’m about to lose it. Do we need to bring tiic toks and graphs along because I have friends man. It’s like he’s checked out and we’ve seen this movie before. But that’s what happens when you think you can pluck an unknown and toss him in the SEC.

Thus 4th and 1 in the red zone and kicked a FG was stupid. Did he go against his so-called analytics?

Did he just admit that if his defense is playing good then he calls an extremely conservative offense? I mean we all knew that

Kinda used car salesman vibes. He certainly conned the administration and fan base on his “process”.

At this point I think he’s just setting it up for the next guy.

How odd is it, that at the beginning of the 2022 season that this rebuild will be more than two years?

Some people, are saying that Napier should of been more aggressive.
    I agree to a point.

However, how aggressive can he get:
    1. When the O-Line is not blocking?
    2. Especially when you have a Redshirt Freshman QB with less than 2 games of experience with this O-line.
    3. Also, when the current backup QB has about 7 snaps all season.
The biggest positive that I see for this season is that the Gators were competitive in 9 out of 12 games. Last season it was 7 out of 13 games.

In the past two seasons there has been some bright moments and signs of growth.
However, to be fair, there has be some not so bright moments and signs that the coaches and the players need to address some issues.

In a few months we will be entering year 3 for Napier.
We need to see Napier and the players to show:
    1. That the issues are being addressed.
    2. And that both the coaches and the players are growing.
A kneejerk reaction will lead a lot of people to say, that next season will be very well a make or break season for Napier.

A realistic reaction is that Napier's contract buyout was designed to give him a four year time limit to complete the rebuild of the Gator football program.

    Why four years?

We need to stay positive and realistic.
    • One of the things this season showed us, was how much the Gator Football program deteriorated since Meyer left UF at the end of 2010 season.
    • Since then, there were 11 seasons and four coaching hires.
    • In comparison, UGA only had 5 coaching hires in the last 59 years. Please note that this item shows a lot of stability within the program.
At the start of the 2022 season (Napier's first) the UF rooster had:
    • A total of 99 players listed on the rooster.
    • 19 of those players came in via the portal with in the prior season or two.
    • 26 of those players were true Freshman.
    • 28 of those players were Red-Shirt Freshmen.
    • Out of the 99 players, only 26 of those players had two or more seasons as a team.
    • 26 team-experienced players on a rooster requires a total rebuild of the team.
To be realistic, Napier's rebuild project is to rebuild:
    • Not just in numbers, but in developing talent, teamwork, continuity, and a team atmosphere.
    • A continuity in retaining players and coaches.
    • This type of rebuild is not a one or two season effort. It is most likely a three or four year program.

Yeh really, where can I get a job like this, where my product is a train wreck, and if I am fired, get a lottery ticket payout when I walk out the door. He and ole Ed Orgeron could have some good conversation over a couple of beers about that !!!

I would be willing to give Billy 4 years if there was improvement from game to game or season to season. I would be more understanding if he was more proactive at addressing the staff issues (poor coaching and communication) rather than addressing it when he is forced to.
I would give grace if he was more active in identifying solid talent in the portal instead of adding practice squad players.
My eyes are telling me that none of this is happening.
I too long for continuity but what’s the point of continuing with a culture of loosing? Once the habit of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory sets in, it’s a damn hard habit to break.

ABSOLUTELY... I like Napier, and I think he can turn things around. But he needs to get (a few new coaching changes, 2 or 3) best available position coaches to make it happen.

Well, then we have the wrong coach. And in the NIL era, maybe the wrong team.

I'd like to think that losing, repeatedly, in games we should win and even ones we should not, should be motivation enough. But in the "I got mine" era, maybe it isn't.

I’m sorry if his contract was written to give him four years. Realistically, he has three, and by three I mean until about midway through the next season. If he does not manifestly prove he belongs at this level by then, it’s over.

Are you where you want to be year 2

I don’t know if there is an answer to that.

Billy! The answer is no! And folks would respect that answer.
