And this game was not mentioned on ESPN during the UF vs Baylor game. WTF? All the other games were mentioned.
I can’t find the line anywhere. That ESPN pie chart makes no sense. Is it crowd sourced? Do they watch the games?
See if this helps. I just quickly skimmed the article so I'm not sure if it answers your question. https://247sports.com/college/arkan...is-espns-basketball-power-index-bpi-51778128/
Yeah, I noticed that as well. At least the one TV dude kept saying all game that the Gators look like a top-25 team to him. So I'll give the ESPN crew a B+.
That's a pretty interesting take. Based on what it says, the Gators are predicted to: Be the 23rd-best team in the country. Win 20 regular season games, and lose 10. Finish 5th in the SEC. Go 10-8 or 11-7 in the SEC. Have an 8% chance of winning the SEC regular season (or sharing the title). I can live with that. Puts us in the 5- or 6-seed range in the NCAAT. Of course, this is just a snapshot of how we've done so far and not where we are in March. This BPI will change a lot. I like it that we have more quality depth than a great majority of the teams in the USA (my opinion), and are not as vulnerable as most when we lose a player or two.
Gators need to take care of business in this game. That would end a fairly successful November 3-2 vs major conference opponents. Need to have the same energy they played with the last 3 games.
They have two power 5 games left, they need to win one. Of course, beat the rest of the weaker teams and go into Sec play 10-3.
I agree. I do think that both games (at Wake & at Mich) are winnable for the Gators. Wake is an average ACC team & Michigan has struggled early in comparison to previous years, but winning at their place won't be easy. However, with both games on the road, need to take 1 and have no other bad losses to get to 10-3, which would be solid. The 1 other game that the Gators shouldn't take lightly is Richmomd. Don't let these guys hang around and come ready to play. I do think that 11-2 is in play, but they're going to have to sure up defensively, especially guarding the 3, better shot selection at times, as well as do better from the ft line.
Good point about Richmond. They always seem to be a good team. The year of our 2nd national championship, they played us close to the very end, down in Fort Lauderdale in an early-season tournament. IIRC.
At least I don't need to watch any more ridiculous, maddening, undisciplined football anymore and can focus on a good Gators team.
Agree. Great field position twice in the first half and our OC clams up and just runs the ball getting in the red zone without any shots (passes) close to the end zone which would have at least surprised FSU. maybe even got a TD instead of trying to line up a fg. When we did pass it was always third and long, with a rookie QB, not in rhythm with any other throws in those drives. I knew after these two drives we were dead in the water, FSU would get the ball in the second half first and score. When this occurred, I went to bed. How much conservative play calling for one season could I take.
I'm pretty sure he'll be ready. They let him try a little bit before the Baylor game but he wasn't ready. But that he gave it a go tells me was close.
